Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

1)
The authors should improve the introduction section in order to highlight the relevance of the preparation of this composite. The introduction lacks in terms of application sector of the composite and requirement of structures for their application (i.e. dimension of the nanoparticles etc..). The only sentence that the authors include not contain any bibliographic references and is inconsistent regarding the novelty of the work.
“…properties but also stretch-ability, barrier properties, heat resistance, etc. In recently, there are few studies on Cu2O/PP composites. To our knowledge, Cu2O/PP composite was fabricated for the first time. Therefore, the development of Cu2O/PP composite material with both antibacteria properties and heat resistance is essential. The synthesized Cu2O/PP composites are expected to be used in infant products.”

2)
The Results and discussion section is focused only on the description of the results with no discussion.
For example:
- the reaction mechanism should be provided
- the role of PEG as surfactant should be explained
Further, what the authors mean for monodispersed? Figure 2 shows particles with a mean diameter of 850 nm and not 200-500 nm.

Authors should describe the characterization techniques such as TGA, SEM, FT-IR etc.  Author should also do English corrections. There so many grammatical errors, incorrect sentence.

P-2, line 55-56: Authors have written "In recently,  there are few studies on Cu2O/PP composites." I think authors should report their works and add some references

P-3, line 109: Authors should write seven peaks.

P-5, line 144: FT-IP should be FT-IR.

Authors should also check the errors in the following pages

P-5, line 156

P-7, line 183, 190, 192, 200, 201

Please correct:

1) 192      5% value of 0-Cu2O/PP was lower than the value of pure PP, due to evaporation of (remove: evaporation of....?)

2) 163      3.3. Dispersion of 0-Cu2O and M-Cu2O in PP (3.2.3?)

3) In the paper lacks information on the chemical properties (exact composition, proximate analysis, ultimate analysis, higher heating value) of the considered Cu2O / Polypropylene  composite and the composition of compounds released during the thermal process this composite.

Reviewer 4 Report

Authors have reported the experimental results on “Preparation and thermal properties of modified Cu2O/Polypropylene (PP) composite”. After carefully reviewing the article, I have the following suggestion to be addressed before the final publication of the manuscript. 1. The writing of the paper is very poor. Few sentences don’t make any sense. Please, revise it under the supervision of senior faculty member. 2. Section 2 Line: 67, Sentence starts with “Gelatin was supplied…”. Please, rewrite whole sentence to make it clearer for the readers. 3. Synthesized of superfine Cu2O sphere, Modification of Cu2O and Synthesis of Cu2O/PP composite, you haven’t cited any paper? Why? I don’t think such methods are newly invented. Please, cite proper References in those sections. 4. Line 103, there is unnecessary full stop “the mixture.”. Please remove this. 5. Please, compare the XRD and SEM of both Modification of M-Cu2O and Raw 0-Cu2O. Because, the addressed novelty of the paper is about modification of Cu2O. Hence, it most important to compare modified and unmodified Cu2O in every aspect. 6. Modify Figure 1 and 2 as I mentioned above. 7. Please, mention the model name and experiment method for SEM and XRD. 8. How do you perform the FTIR AND TGA tests? Please, give the full detail of instruments and your experimental methodology. Also, cite the papers to justify your experimental techniques. 9. Line 183-188, Please, writing is very poor. Please, rewrite it. Those lines should be included in the introduction section. 10. Line 201-202, Sentence “At the same time, the surface modification Cu2O with silane coupling agent KH-570 was very successfully”. What does it mean? It is not understandable. 11. Please, also include the Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results into your paper.

line 100-103 add recent reference "Rubino, A. et al. Ti/TiO2/Cu2O based electrodes as photocatalysts in PEC cells (2019) Chemical Engineering Transactions, 73, pp. 73-78."

Author Response

The reference has been added in line 81.
