Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The subject of diagnostics of cage induction machines is important and topical, therefore it is good that the authors take up these issues. The article is interesting, but there are some things that need to be fixed:

1. In the description of the article structure (lines 155 - 158), the following sections were incorrectly numbered.

2. What is the spectral resolution of the analysed signals?

3. Figure 5 is incorrectly marked as Figure 4 in the text (lines 372 -379) - the description shows that the spectrum of the measured signals is described, and the reference assigned to Figure 4, where the time courses are presented.

4. There are no units for the presented values of physical quantities in Figure 5.

5. In line 213 there should be ML algorithms and there is Ml algorithms.

6. What is the uncertainty of the current measurements and does the accuracy of the measurements affect the efficiency of individual models in diagnostics?

Paper "Cost-Efficient MCSA-Based Fault Diagnostic Framework for SCIM at Low-Load Conditions" presents research related to the mechanical engineering, in general. The paper also presents a case study. The paper presents an interesting research, and in several items, several suggestions will be emphasized.

-        Keywords cannot be words from the title of the paper. These are usually significant words from the abstract. A change is proposed.

-        It is proposed to merge Chapters 1 and 2.

-        The methodology as well as the results are described at a high level.

-        It is proposed to edit the conclusion in the sense that it should contain facts related to stating specific details related to the academic and scientific contribution of the paper.

-        Please check that no more than 10 - 15 % of the references are from the same journal and no more than three references are from the same author.
