Comments and Suggestions for Authors

General comments:

The subject of the study and the research are relevant. However, clear hypotheses are needed to enrich the discussion. Details in the methodology are lacking to clearly understand the study. The discussion and conclusion need to clearly show the relevance and use of the study in forest management.

Introduction/Objectives

In general, the introduction is clear and all the elements needed to understand the study are there. Add other paragraph with international literature between the 1st and 2nd paragraph (there not link). Suggestions have been made to improve fluidity/ease of reading. It would be good to add hypotheses to the research questions. Add more international references, I provide some of them

Methods

This section needs to be improved to understand the choice of sampling sites, the sampling of communities and the analyses carried out.  Add a study area section. Add a map.

 Results

This section is clear and highlights the relevant elements of the analyses.

Discussion

The discussion needs to be improved.

Add study limitations, management implications and more international literature.

Specific comments:

L85-91: Add hypothesis

L141” not use abbreviation in the figure, put the name of all the variables or add it in the caption.

Merge Figure 3 and 4.

L301-302. Add 2 or 3 sentence more about it.

L366. How? Explain more and develop more… add references

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript is a significant contribution in the field of habitat suitability modeling of Davidia involucrata in China using Maxent along with many ecological variables. Studies are of significant importance in the field of biodiversity conservation, especially for Relict Plant species context. Authors have used the best possible combination of specific variables for modeling the species. I have some suggestions for the improvement of the manuscript.
