Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Summary:

This manuscript addresses a method to experimentally investigate the influence of the HVAC system on the energy consumption and thermal comfort. This topic can assess the current regulation for the operation of the HVAC systems and is well-suited to quantitatively analyze both the energy consumption and the thermal comfort in e-buses.in e-buses . However, there are some points in this manuscript that need to be further clarified. It is noted that this manuscript needs careful editing to avoid the obvious mistakes.

Major comments:

  1. The results of Meas.1 and Meas.3 are shown in the data from the ViriCiti data logger and the computation of the thermal sensation and thermal comfort. Since the conclusion can be obtained by comparing Meas.1 and Meas.3, why are four measurement plans given in Table 6. What is the value of Meas.2 and Meas.4?
  2. Could you please talk about what the auxiliary system contains in Sec.5.1?
  3. Could you please explain why Figure 7 shows a stepwise decline?

Minor comments:

  1. Sec.4 mainly introduces bus selection, sensor location and route selection, but the main title does not reflect the bus.
  2. The subscripts in Figure A1 are not very clear, can you improve the clarity?
  3. The blank part at the bottom of page 19 is too big, can you adjust the layout?
  4. In Figure B1, the colors of the curves in (a) and (c) and the curves in (b) and (d) are not uniform. Would it be more intuitive to unify them into yellow?

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper is interesting and fit the journal's aims. The paper is well written, rich in technical information and it brings important contributions as respect thermal comfort model. The paper presents in a coherent way a method to experimentally investigate the influence of the  heating, ventilation and air conditioning system on the energy consumption and thermal comfort in an e-bus.
