Towards Green Driving: A Review of Efficient Driving Techniques

This work is primarily a review paper on the impact of Efficient Driving Techniques, essentially centred on “Eco-Driving Assistance Protocols”. Thus, the reviewer indicates that the title should clearly integrate this issue.
Furthermore, the article typology should also be changed from “Article” to “Review Paper”.
In general terms, the paper is very well structured, and the author should bear in mind that the figures and tables must appear after their citation in the text and never before that.
The information about the “Efficient Driving Techniques”, especially at the tables, should explore more the effective contributions of each work, i.e., presenting the results of their application, in terms of fuel consumption and the reduction of gas emissions, in order to show the impact that the “Efficient Driving Tips” may have in reducing these externalities. In addition, the input information and the results of each algorithm for each technique (author/ related work) should be presented.
The discussion is short, looking rather like a conclusion of each section. It is not clear whether the different algorithms used in the “Eco-Driving Assistance Protocols” are the best and in which situations they should be used.
Future work and the challenges arising from this review should be further explored and made clear.

Response: Thank you for the positive comment. We fixed the positions of all tables and figures on the paper.

Response: We improved all listed tables in the paper. We have clearly added the main input and outputs for each study.

Response: We have reformulated the discussion section and provided a general assessment of the existed protocols and suggestions to improve them.

Response: We highlighted the contribution of the paper and its main objective in the Abstract and Introduction Sections.
“In this paper, we provide an organized review study of green driving assistance techniques. The efficient driving assistant protocols that are proposed for downtown and highways are investigated. Then, these protocols are categorized based on their used technology. This study investigates the general/especial considered parameters and characteristics of high fuel consumption scenarios over road networks by investigating the input and obtained output of each previous study in this field. The main objective of this work is to remark the gaps and the required works in this field of research and advice researchers to dedicate their efforts.”
