Comments and Suggestions for Authors

I would like to congratulate the authors for this study, which is relevant in our society because of its implications for improving the care of such a vulnerable group. However, I attach a series of improvements to be taken into account to improve the study.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

First of all, thank you for the opportunity to review the article. This is theoretically and methodologically based, but does not always meet the objective that guides the research: Explore the experience of refugees and AS in Italy concerning perceived health needs and the elements that influence health and well-being.

There are questions that raise doubts  that I submit to the authors for consideration:

1 - This group of refugees has specific characteristics that result from their level of education, professions and gender, as the majority of them are women. Is this the typical immigrant fleeing war or crossing the Mediterranean? or is this not your typical refugee or immigrant? Because the majority of immigrants and refugees are men and not all of them have this profile (except those from the Ukrainian war, because most of them are women)

2 - The data analysis emphasizes family issues rather than exploring the health needs and the elements that influence health and well-being. The results presented must respond to the objectives of the study.

3 - I suggest that the analysis of the responses and the discussion, including the limits and potential, can take the purpose of the study and the questions I raised previously into consideration.

The conclusion must respond to the objective of the article. Despite the article being written by nurses, the article does it say what the specific role of nurses (I think) but only the promoting health with immigrants or refugees, nor whether these immigrants benefit from the health services of these professionals. Therefore, authors cannot concluded that nurses can participate in the health promotion but rather refer to the point of view of these immigrants - how they perceived health needs and the elements that influence health and well-being.

Do these immigrants understand the importance of access to health services provides by  the host country ? or when they mentioned that they miss their family, because they live in another country, and that they want to be independent, the health services do not respond to their needs? Is this what they mean?

Should these people benefit from health services, for example support in the area of mental health, or in maternal health, or in adolescent health? Can they alone respond to these needs? I think this is a gap in which the article, as written, does not respond to what is intended.

These questions can be considered by the authors.

I wish you good work
