The paper affords an interesting topic that is subject to be included in the scientific area of Sustainability Italian. Its attempt is to define the equilibrium of grassland yield, livestock carrying capacity and animal husbandry population for the influences on the ecological environment and sustainable development of pastoral areas. Undoubtedly, the way of affording the study is particularly complicate since when to establish quantitative relationship between theoretical livestock carrying capacity and suitable scale for animal husbandry population is not so easy. Anyway, the subject is particularly important for the considered area of China, and not only. The importance is with evidence related to the regional policies that must improve sustainability of pastoral systems.

Introduction, data and methods, discussion and conclusion in my opinion are well written and clear but need some improvement for English language.

This is a basic article that can/should be continued by successive articles that would take a more variable focus to the life and business opportunities of the local herdsmen.

In this article, please, make sure that you write out all the abbreviations that you take to use (DEM, SU, hm²). There is some missing logic in the reference 2 (space of the year)
