Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is interesting and well written and presents features of novelty with reference to the Korean context.

The review of the literature appears broad and structured.

The empirical analysis appears to be well conducted and the results are clearly exposed.

Some perplexities may be presented on the correlation (albeit empirically demonstrated) between the results of sports teams and membership in a chaebol or not.

The impact of governance on corporate performance is a topic that has already been covered in the literature, but its application to the Korean context is conducted with reference to whether or not it belongs to a group (chaebol).

The doubt is about the causal link. In the sense that it is possible that the group to which it belongs is able to guarantee more attentive support and therefore more resources over time, but one wonders if this is no longer a consequence of greater financial availability or other variables.

The analysis does not include this data as it is not available but it is believed that the problem should be addressed, at least in the sense of considering whether there are teams even not belonging to a chaebol that are funded in an important way and have obtained results comparable to the chaebol ones.

The overall opinion is in favor of publishing with few revisions. The paper is interesting and well written and presents features of novelty with reference to the Korean context.

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper shows the analysis of the Korean Business Gropus related to sport. It shows how those who can diversify their resources internationally can achieve better sports results, as they can better market and sell their products.

Formally you should review this points:

- On line 159 there is a reference as [16?]. Please check.

- In line 211, it is indicated that the data sample is until 2013, is it possible to update it to more recent dates?

We recommend that the authors use the Pawlak(1982) methodology on Rough Sets to analyze the hypotheses raised.

You can see some applications of this methodology at:
