Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Thank you for the opportunity to read this paper. The paper presents an interesting and relevant research paper, which is well structured and well written. The author has clearly presented the problem and positioned it well within the existing literature. Methodological part is good and results are clearly presented. My only suggestion is to extend the conclusion part.

Comments:

I hope all these suggestions will not discourage the author(s) keep working on this manuscript in the future. Good luck to the author(s).

There is not a clear appart for conclusions.  The conclusions are not solidly based in the empirical obtained results. Conclusions are merely descriptives.

The paper would benefit from a shortened introduction, which I found somewhat redundant in light of the following literature review. Also, I would recommend a clarification of the "calling” construct, for example by adding a definition in the introduction. It would help readers who are not familiar with the construct to understand it better and avoid misunderstandings.
Other little oversights: in line 375 authors wrote RESEA instead of RMSEA; in line 573 “011” instead of (presumably) 2011.

The article deals with a very important topic - the impact of authentic leadership on change-oriented OCB. I believe that this is an innovative and interesting topic. The benefits of employee display of citizenship behavior are very significant. Therefore, give guidance to leaders on what they can do to make more of these OCBs. The structure of the study is logical and consistent. Overall, the manuscript is well written and individual parts tie well together, which made the reading enjoyable. The conceptual framework and research model were presented very clearly. The level of literature saturation is sufficient, with individual sources being current and properly selected.

Below are some comments that may strengthen this article:

  • please clearly define in the abstract what was the purpose of the work
  • in part 3.1. Sample and Data Collection, please specify when the research was conducted (how long did it take and give the date)
  • part "discussion" is very short. You indicate the theoretical and practical implications, but please comment on the results obtained - refer to your results and discuss them

Congratulations to the author of a very good article
