Reviewer 2 Report

The research activity presented in the manuscript investigate an interesting TFC membrane preparation and an intensive study about its applications. The authors should improve the English language and style. In addition, a more extensive references number should be presented, in particular by recent publications (within the last 5 years) in order to highlight the novelty of this work.

In Materials and Method section, authors should add a paragraph where can be indicate the chemicals used and about the polymers also the molecular weight (in the case of PVA it's necessary showed the hydrolysis degree).

In Materials and Methods section, authors should provide manufacturer/company location for reagents and equipment used, indicating where they were first cited; The location should include the City, State abbreviation (for Canadian and U.S. provinces and states), and standard Country name.

The authors should use the correct name of the polymers used (PVA is the poly vinyl-alcohol).

In Results and Discussion session, the authors should support the characterization data with more references in order to reinforce the data obtained. Moreover, the authors should correct the significant figures in the tables.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The article is very interesting and is worth to be published. The authors have improved the initial manuscript. I have two comments:

1. I do not understand why the figures are either centered, places to the left or to the right. Should be more uniformitry. Also, many figures are of low quality and low design - especially those that contain plotted data.

2. In the thermal analysis figures, please use "Mass" instead of "Weight", while in the caption figures to use "mass" instead of "weight loss".

Author Response

Thanks for reviewer's comment about "the article is very interesting and is worth to be published".

Two comments about figures editing and TGA analysis:

  1. The figures and Tables have been re-draw and edited which 29 figures have been combined to 23 figures.
  2. In the thermal analysis figures, change  "Weight" to "Mass".
