Dear authors,

I have read the paper and consider the topic interesting for Sustainability. It represents a significant study likely of interest to a wide range of readers. The introduction is theory-based, the methods are generally appropriate, and overall, the results are clear and compelling. Sufficient information about the previous study findings is presented for readers to follow the present study rationale and procedures. Therefore, I am concerned about the structure in some points, for instance, in the section “2.3: Celebrity characteristics,” trustworthiness or ethicality appear as characteristics, but these characteristics are explained in other sections (2.2 and 2.5). Maybe it would be less confusing if there were a unique section about celebrities characteristics.  

Regarding opinions and emotions toward celebrity and the brand, it could be interesting to consider the Stimulus-Organism-Response framework. See Min, J. H. J., Chang, H. J. J., Jai, T. C., & Ziegler, M. (2019). As a last comment, conclusions should discuss the findings explaining the contributions made to previous literature, comparing studies, methods and results.

the paper is very interesting and has a very good potential for publication. I think that there are some minor aspects that need to be enhanced.

Please include in the abstract + introduction the way how your paper is enhancing the literature, i.e. which literature.

The last paragraph of the introduction should contain the next sections of your paper.

The literature review is well developed and properly documented.

The research methodology is according to this type of papers.

Results: Correlating the error terms mean that the 2 items that you have CT2 and CT5 are one, so you have not measured 2 different aspects, but one. I do not recommend doing that. Of course, correlating error terms means that the FIT of the model are better, but this is kind of influencing the results. 

Discussions: you need to highlight here what previous literature has found on this topic and make a comparison between your results and previous findings. By doing that the originality of your paper is better enhanced. 

Conclusions: Theoretical implications mean how does your paper advance theory: for instance the theory of planed behaviour etc. In my opinion a major drawback of the paper is that you did not think of basing your paper on any theory.

Managerial implications could be further improved. 

The paper does not contain very many new references. This is also a major concern. You should cite as many new papers from 2018-2019-2020 and 2021 as possible.

This study examines the consumer concern of environmental issues and purchase intentions. I think topic is very meaningful. This study generates interesting findings in the area of suggestion. As a reviewer, I make several suggestions.

 

  1. The introduction:

The main contribution of this study should be to examine the unique or differential characteristics in the research model. This paper would be more interesting if you include distinctive variable related to celebrity context.

 

  1. Literature review and Hypothesis Development

The research model and hypotheses is well organized, but purchase intention should be reviewed from previous studies.

 

  1. Materials and Methods

The author(s) can explain the research design in details.  Please provide sample characteristics and sampling procedure. Also, the article should report the mean value and standard deviation of variables.

 

  1. Discussion

In the discussion part, author(s) need to provide more meaningful information based on the findings. For example, it is needed to explain why higher purchase intention is beginning to be more scrutinized due to potential environmental impacts.

  1. Conclusions

The results implication is somewhat pedestrian. It may be better to add discussion as to what your approach adds in terms of environmental issues.
