Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The Abstract should be improved.

Materials and Method section is rather weak. it should contain detailed description on each method used to determine the results. Many results are not supported by method section. Additionally, statistical analysis of the results is not done. I can not trust the presented results without statistical analysis to confirm the hypothesis. Some of the the presented figures (Fig 5) has no contribution in the discussion section, Tables 1-4 can be converted to one complex table. The conclusion is a repetition o f the result. The manuscript should be improved. Authors should consider all comments before acceptance

Author Response

  1. The Abstract should be improved.——Corrected in the paper.
  2. Materials and Method section is rather weak. it should contain detailed description on each method used to determine the results. Many results are not supported by method section. ——The determination methods of various indexes and detailed description are supplemented in Materials and Method.
  3. Additionally, statistical analysis of the results is not done. I can not trust the presented results without statistical analysis to confirm the hypothesis.——All tables have been added statistical analysis and standard deviation.
  4. Some of the the presented figures (Fig 5) has no contribution in the discussion section—— Deleted.
  5. Tables 1-4 can be converted to one complex table. ——Table1-4 have been converted to one compound table in the paper.
  6. The conclusion is a repetition o f the result.——The conclusion section has been reworked.
  7. “TN”, “TP” add full name.—— Total nitrogen,Total phosphorus.
  8. “2.1. Overview of the study area” part of this section should be moved to Results section.——Move the part related to “ the physical and chemical properties of soil and the total nitrogen, total phosphorus of compound fertilizer” to Results section.
  9. “g/kg”, “mg/kg” use the same units.——Corrected in the paper.
  10. “The total nutrient of compound fertilizer was ≥ 30%, and the ratio of three elements was N: P2O5: K2O = 15:7:8.” this reflect the soluble NPK fertilizers not the total P or N.——The total nitrogen and total phosphorus contained in the application of compound fertilizer at each stage have been described in this paper, this sentence is redundant and has been deleted.
  11. “mm”, “cm”, “m” use the same units.——Corrected in the paper.
  12. “(1) The contents of total nitrogen and total phosphorus in irrigation water were measured.”this should be in water and soil. alternatively convert the total nitrogen and total P to soluble fractions.——This measurement method is used for other research purposes, and the redundant expression here is deleted in the paper.
  13. “(2) Water sample collection” what was the volume of water sample and what was the frequency of sampling.——Modified in the paper: The amount of water was measured when there was drainage after rainfall, and 1000mL plastic bottles were used to take samples in the early, middle and late periods of drainage after the drainage began to analyze the concentration of various water quality indicators in the runoff in each period.
  14. “Table 1, Table 2, Table 3 and Table 4 showed” these tables can be converted to one compound table.——These tables have been converted to one compound table in the paper.
  15. “Table 1” add standard deviation to each value.——All tables have been added standard deviation to each value in the paper.
  16. M&M section does not contain detailed description about the analytical methods used to determin TN and or TP. “NH3-N and NO3-N”describe how these materials were determined——The determination methods of various indexes are supplemented in part 2.3 (2) Measurement items and methods.
  17. “Average value” “Removal rate /%” add statical section in M&M explaining how the this was done.—— The average values in these tables, Nanjing is the average of the six measured values, and Yuyao is the average of the three measured values. "Percentage of average value" is the interception rate, which is calculated relative to the concentration of discharged water from farmland. Statical section are supplemented in part 2.3 (3) Data processing and analysis.
  18. “COD” add full name and explain how this was determined.——“COD” is Chemical Oxygen Demand, and the determination methods of various indexes are supplemented in part 2.3 (2).
  19. “4. Conclusion” this is not a conclusion, rather a repetition of results.——The conclusion section has been reworked in the paper.
