Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In the assessment of the paper submitted for the review, I specifically focussed on the discussed issues, applied research methods and the scope of analysis of research results, as well as substantive content of the article and its structure.

The reviewed paper is of scientific nature. The considerations conducted in the paper are focused on such categories as: perceived consumer effectiveness, circular economy, towel reuse, willingness to sacrifice, environmental consciousness, environmental knowledge.

The subject area discussed in the paper is topical and important. It is also consistent with the profile of the Journal.

The research procedure has complex character.

I would recommend:

- develop the literature review.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors presented a valid study on attitudes and behavior gap with tourists (re)using towels. A slight thought is about using MTurk, as there is no proof that respondents really experienced a stay in a hotel, except for their statement. It would be better if the research was conducted via "real" tourists. Otherwise, the methodological approach is appropriate, references are current and relevant and the research model is well designed. A minor spell checking is required (for example: one such examples, line 28; this result into an, line 34; there exist a knowledge-attitude-behavior gap, line 150/151). Too bad for the chosen of the sampling method though... Authors are very prolific in the production of articles, and probably don't have the time (or patience) to conduct a field survey ;-)
