Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors analyzed the impact made by and on under graduated students in pedagogical approach based on service-learned project in developing a basic linguistic competence in English, in students with with specific needs of educational support.

The positive effects in soft skills developing, increase in motivational factors and generally advantages of service-learning online modes compared with face-to face mode are well documented.

The major advantage of this study is this simultaneous view of developed skills in two target groups. Therefore, the study may have great promises in the pedagogical field but may also have importance for other investigations and is clearly of high methodological relevance.

The paper is clearly structured and written. The introduction gives a structured and broad review of the pedagogical background as well as methodological considerations concerning the adapted analyses. The results are clearly laid out and accompanied by reasonable representations. The insights gained are well summarized and discussed with a view to pedagogical as well as methodological aspects.
