Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Although the development of the experience is well narrated, there is a lack of a critical approach that points out not only the successes but also the weaknesses of the process and possible points for improvement.
It would be good to indicate the positioning in relation to the term sustainability because although it is introduced at the beginning from a transversal and multidisciplinary perspective, later on there is no social perspective  that includes issues concerning caring, age, gender, dependancy, coliving, ......etc. Perhaps some references to authors and literature on the subject would help a lot. ( braidotti, haraway, latour.....which authors were shared with the students..?.)
The organisation and tactics developed in the six-week intensive workshop should be specifically indicated, as there is only a basic and insufficient diagram in terms of information on objectives, tasks, teaching strategies and tools. ( check it, it appears" revlitalisation")

Author Response

The introduction was elaborated to set the research context and explain what is the significance of the discussed case and what is the research contribution, with respect to previous theoretical background and empirical research. The distinguishing features combination of the project was described (a particular combination of innovation and novelty elements, in the Polish context, that the authors believe makes it worth sharing within the debate on sustainable education approaches)

The organization and tactics of the project and workshop was elaborated, and the diagram was redrawn to be more clear and informative.

The text was referenced better, with the number of literature references expanded from 25 to 36 positions.

Conclusions were elaborated and formulated more clearly, with stating the lessons and insights for the Faculty of Architecture in integrating sustainability in the design curriculum; a reference and comparison with other international programs, and highlighting the sustainability aspects of the described project.

Also, several other, smaller improvements were made in the text to make it more precise and concise, highlighting the novelty aspects of the projects and sustainability insights for the campus community and educational process.

Reviewer 2 Report

Interesting approach whose originality, however, is due to the Fulbright Specialist Program.
Clear and immediate introduction.
The emphasis on the importance of disciplinary exchanges for a holistic approach to the solution of environmental problems is significant. However, it is the typical U.S. demiurgic approach that underlies the Fulbright Specialist Program that seems the jarring note.
It is a tale of an international and interdisciplinary workshop.
The testing ground is the university campus as a small citadel on which to experiment the sustainable approach.
Clear the questions posed at the base of the workshop research even if many of them are rhetorical one understands the educational function they play.
There are no elements of innovation or novelty that are particularly useful to the scientific debate on the topic of sustainability.
However, I believe that the experience should be published for the strong value of educational testimony.

Comment :

  1. Please address clearly in the introduction part What is your research Gap? What is your research contribution? Besides full bright program how are the researchers analyste the effect to the urban design? Please study this aspect more and add into review
  2. What is the conclusion of your research ,it's seems that you missed this part.
  3. I think you should discuss what full bright effect to your design compared with other program whether the effect will change?
