Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In the abstract, the authors list the results achieved: (1), (3) and (4). Number 2 is missing.
Please check the explanation of the formulas for the probit model. It seems to me that in some places there is no space between the symbols and the description, which makes the text blend into one whole and it is difficult to catch the explanation for a specific symbol.

In the EFA description, I would also like to see information about Barlett's test and Cronbach's alpha for individual factors (taking into account the correlation between the variables). I think it is also worth giving detailed eigenvalue values in the attachment. Either I missed or there is no information in the text about whether the variables were rotated. If so, by what method?

Despite these slight information gaps, I believe that the article is methodologically sound, well-grounded in the literature, and the results are reliable and convincing.

Author Response

Dear reviewer:

I feel very much about your suggestions on the revision of the manuscript. For your suggestions on the revision of the manuscript, make the following modifications to the manuscript:

  1. 1.The part missing (2) in your summary has been revised in the revised manuscript.
  2. As for the problem of text confusion in the probability model you proposed, it has been revised in the revised draft.
  3. In your description of EFA, you need to see about the Barrett test and Cronbach ' α,the last two lines of EFA analysis give the test results.

Your kind considerations will be greatly appreciated.

With best regards,

Sincerely Yours,

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear authors,

You have a modern topic here. still, there are plenty of papers that approached the issue of life satisfaction and you have poorly referenced your paper.  So I recommend to improve your paper by adding more relevant references.

I suggest that all the tables should be inserted in the results section, while the discussion section should limit to comments regarding them.

Discussion section needs improvements. Your results must be commented by referring t previous researches

Author Response

Dear reviewer:

I feel very much about your suggestions on the revision of the manuscript. For your suggestions on the revision of the manuscript, make the following modifications to the manuscript:

  1. For the problem of poor literature citation, We haverevised and added some literature in the literature review of the revised manuscript to enrich the theoretical knowledge of the manuscript.
  2. With regard to the attribution of the forms you raised, some forms are only generated in the process of processing data, which is not appropriate in the result analysis.
  3. The discussion part has been improved in the revised manuscript according to your revision suggestions.

Your kind considerations will be greatly appreciated.

With best regards,

Sincerely Yours,

Reviewer 3 Report

1. In this study, previous studies that can clearly explain the causal relationship between the hypotheses should be presented.

2. It is questionable at what level of Population Urbanization can bring about Life Satisfaction. This is because Life Satisfaction is influenced by various conditions such as an individual's economic conditions, values, health, and life goals.

3. The explanation of the causal relationship between Human Capital and Life Satisfaction and Family Capital and Life Satisfaction seems to be lacking.

4. Exploratory factor analysis is explained in Tables 1 and 2, but general factor analysis is used to group factors by considering the correlation between items on a Likert scale rather than a nominal scale. It seems that serious consideration is needed in this area.

5. It seems that serious consideration is needed as to whether the subject of this study needs to be applied to the framework of factor analysis and regression analysis.

Author Response

Dear reviewer:

I feel very much about your suggestions on the revision of the manuscript. For your suggestions on the revision of the manuscript, make the following modifications to the manuscript:

  1. The causal relationship between hypotheses has been verified by the research experience of the former in the literature review.
  2. This manuscript not only studies the relationship between population urbanization and life satisfaction, but also selects two intermediary variables, human capital and family capital, which have an impact on life satisfaction, taking into account the basic situation of individuals.
  3. The explanation of the causal relationship between human capital and family capital on life satisfaction is added in the revised manuscript.
  4. In the existing literature, some literatures use nominal scale for factor analysis, which is supported by literature.
  5. Before the beginning of this research topic, a large number of literature review was conducted on the methods and means adopted by the research topic. The use of factor analysis and regression analysis in this research topic is reasonable.

Your kind considerations will be greatly appreciated.
