Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

General comments

ü  The paper raised a very important issue that deals with the road dust concentration of heavy metals.

ü  The study will be more useful if the seasonal variation was also considered.

ü  No consistency in the citation that should be carefully corrected.

ü  The following recent and related articles should be reviewed, and gap should be identified.

Introduction

ü  Line 28. Citation number 4 is not in the correct format. Edition needed.

ü  Line 22-28. What is your basis for the statement that road soil is an accumulation of heavy metals? Citation required or the gap statement should be changed as there could be a little investigation in the area.

ü  Indicate that the scope is only spatial variation.

Materials and Methods

ü  Well-designed design, sampling, data processing, correlation analysis, and variability analysis.

Results

ü  Figures and tables are well illustrated, and articulated

Discussion

ü  The discussion is based on the result and well discussed.

Conclusion

ü  The conclusion looks like a summary of the findings (the result). It is okay to have it, but a more comprehensive conclusion that reflects the title is required.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper presents an analysis of two heavy metals in road dust, for which 63 samples have been collected to be investigated. Although the paper is well structured, the introduction is not sufficient for a scientific article. Moreover, the abstract and conclusion need to be amended before publication.

Please reconsider review more papers in the Introduction section and cite them to improve your claims. Moreover, the novelty of the paper should be highlighted in the last paragraph of the introduction to increase the importance of this article for the readers.
