Reviewer 2 Report (Previous Reviewer 1)

Paper has been improved, sources added and results reinforced.

Author Response

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your report. We appreciate all comments and suggestions to improve our manuscript. We have uploaded the latest version of a manuscript (sustainability-1894562) which has been proofread. We have added some improvements according to your comments. They are shown in red font.

The hypothesis is clearly presented. We have revised the Results section to explain the findings more clearly. One row has been added to Table 2.

Sincerely,

Dr. Blaz Jereb

This manuscript is a resubmission of an earlier submission. The following is a list of the peer review reports and author responses from that submission.

Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Authors already published similar papers in 2009 and 2010. There is no information about the questionnaire's reliability and validity. The literature review presented is obsolete, only three sources are from the last three years. Most of the literature is 10 years old or more.

Before any other statistical analysis, the reliability and validity of the instrument should be verified to ensure the quality of the measurement (e.g. Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Cronbach’s α coefficient, Composite Reliability). There is no data about the survey procedures. Literature is old. Similar papers were published by authors years ago (from Slovenia and Bosnia), and there is a strong suspicion (I have no proof) that the research is fake. Or at least of doubtful scientific value.

Reviewer 2 Report

The aim of this study is clear, and the methodology appears appropriate. However, more information about how the questionnaire was completed by the participants. How was it administered, was any presented, how were the questionnaires returned, etc.? The writing of the manuscript needs improvement, and a native English speaker needs to assist. The writing also is not consistently in a scientific format, so there is revision required. Please see my other comments below.

Line 3:  Should be ….. “…from Bosnia, Hercegovina, and Slovenia”

Line 15: Briefly describe what 1 to 5 scores mean.

Line 18: “…gender differences for only two..”

Lines 20-24: Please break up into two sentences.

Line 24: How about Slovenia?

Line 76: “…and the percentage of people….”

Line 82: “….watch it on television…”

Lines 114-115: “….American Mixed Martial Art (MMA) fans…”

Line 136: “…Slovenia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina….”

Line 172: “…..motives for Bosnian and Slovenian students”

Line 173: The following sentence is difficult to understand “Students ranged motives by their own.”

Lines 177-179: This sentence uses very casual language. Please write scientifically and in the past tense.

Line 180: …like “plenty of leisure time",

Line 181-182: This sentence does not add anything meaningful.

Line 184: “Motives of Students….”

Line 233: Who is “he”?

Line 258: What is meant by “visiting team fans”?

Line 319: “…it is bad” – Please used scientific language.

Line 382-383: “…differed statistically only in two motives.”

Lines 385-386: This part of the sentence is difficult to understand “…or there are no differences between them.” – Please rewrite.

Reviewer 3 Report

It is very important the research among different cultural  cohorts of young people on the motivation to physical activity and sport events. The received data can be used for the development of social projects and planning in these countries.
