Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper titled "A Proposed Approach for Monitor and Control the Sustainable Development Strategy Implementation" aims to argue that is not necessary only to define a perfect approach for greening an organization, but managers need effective tools to monitor and control the proposed approach implementation. So, paper aims to bring theoretical and applicative contributions to the sustainable development management and authors proposed a conceptual model for green companies based on an integrated management strategy and a complex assessment model.

The paper looks interesting, I have the following suggestions:

- paper is well organized, but please check MDPI journal instructions for preparing the paper, e.g., check table format as MDPI requires only horizontal lines in tables;

- table 3 - please check "." in word "Simple." as there is not "." in word "Complex";

- figure 2 - some pictures are not readable;

- figure 7 - note readable;

- it will be good to add more recent literature sources into the literature review;

- please add to the conclusion section why is your proposed approach better than existing approaches and please specify what is known and what is new.

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper was written very well and has a good opportunity to be published in this great journal, after addressing the following concerns:

1.     It is suggested to clearly state the research questions and objectives in the introduction. Then answer a few questions: Why is the topic important (or why are you studying it)? What are the research questions? What has been studied? What are your contributions? Why should this particular method be suggested?

2.     I encourage you to add more details about your main contributions in the last part of the introduction.

3.     Please bring some facts and figures in the introduction to support the ideas. Especially from www.statista.com

4.     The related work in the literature review of sustainability management (section 2.1) is very short! Many recent articles in this field can be added to the literature review. You have not mentioned the main works in this field. Authors should review recent works in these areas.

5.     It is suggested to better show the gaps in the previous papers, if possible, add a section as research gap.

6.     Unfortunately, figures 2 to 8 are not clear and are of low quality. Please present higher resolution figures.

7.     Please state limitation (weaknesses) of the proposed approach (if any) in the conclusion section and future research direction should be elaborated in more detail.

8.      Check the English presentation of this paper to remove the typos mistakes.

Reviewer 3 Report

Sustainable development management is gaining more attention in both industry and academia. The authors proposed an integrated sustainable development management strategy approach to offer feasible ways for a better business alignment to the actual legal framework. Three case studies are used to demonstrate the validity of the designed assessment tool. The text is well written, and the research objectives are clear. Overall, the manuscript is in good shape.  However, I have some concerns centered around the case studies.

I personally feel like the three examples are relatively randomly picked in section 4.3.  I would suggest the authors better explain why choose these three. In addition, to make the results more comparable, I also suggest that the three companies serving as case assessments can either be different size firms in the same industry, or same size firms in different industries.
