Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This study is to determine the performance of tubular solar distillation tools equipped with heat exchangers using solar desalination. The following inputs can be incorporated.

1. Introduction is too long. Let authors focus on most relevant to the work

2. Uncertainty analysis is necessary to incorporate in the experimental section

3. Authors should perform experiments at least for 8 hours to confirm the  feasibility of the tubular solar still

4. Figures 6 and 7 are not clear.

Dear Respected Reviewers,

We highly appreciate your thoughtful feedback and review in accordance with our work. We are encouraged that you found the topic of our work interesting with an acceptable result. Indeed, several justification and revision are needed for a better result as pointed out in the feedback. Thus, we realized the necessity to enhance our work in order to provide answers for several of the feedback. Responding to that, we conducted minor revisions for our work according to your suggestion.

We are thankful for the given feedback as it contributes a lot to our work. Within the attached file, we address the comments and will incorporate all the feedback given. All the explanations are also pointed out in the manuscript.

Thank you for your time and hard work.

Yours sincerely,

Reviewer 2 Report

The submission “Experimental Study of a Tubular Solar Distillation System with Heat Exchanger Using a Parabolic Trough Collector” carried out the experimental investigation of a tubular solar distillation device equipped with HE is using a parabolic trough the collector (PTC) which is a strength of this manuscript. The manuscript, at the present form needs some major revisions. Therefore,  in the following, I enlist some issues that need to be incorporated by the authors:

1.         The novelty and contribution of the paper are unclear as a tubular active solar distillation device with a heat source from the PTC system been used by many researchers in the past.

2.         The introduction should include paper organization.

3.         Table 2 can be just explained in the paragraph statement as its only defining the properties.

4.         Some items in the presented equation are not defined. Define all items along with units.

5.         Please add more details on weather conditions as it’s not clear.

6.         Please add more explanations as a validation sub-section and compare your research with existing literature.

6.         Extend the conclusion with more general usability. What are the benefits of the results in a global context?
