Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I am interested in reading your manuscript. However, there are several things you should pay attention to to strengthen your discussion.

(1) Abstract: Information regarding the conclusion should be added.

(2) Introduction: Research purpose, specific objectives and research questions were not presented in the current version.

(3) It seems that the literature review section is included in the introduction section. I think you should separate the literature review and provide more synthesis in this section.

(4) Methods: How did you have the email addresses of potential participants?

(5) Discussion: This section is too short and it does not discuss all the main results.

(6) Conclusion: You should provide the implications, limitations and suggestions for practice and future research.

(7) References: More up-to-date references should be added.

Abstract

Abstract: Information regarding the conclusion should be added.

The word "conclusions" is incorporated in the summary, differentiating the results from the conclusions.

Introduction

Introduction: Research purpose, specific objectives and research questions were not presented in the current version.

At the end of the introduction section, the purpose of the research is added, as well as the objective of this work.

It seems that the literature review section is included in the introduction section. I think you should separate the literature review and provide more synthesis in this section.

The introduction section is divided from the literature review section, creating a new section, and the recommended references are introduced.

Methodology

Methods: How did you have the email addresses of potential participants?

Information on how the e-mails were obtained after informed consent was obtained is incorporated into the methodology.

Discussion

Reviewer 2 Report

I fully agree, as the authors write, that the education community and higher education (HE) is in a constant process of digital evolution. Nor is it disputable that the pandemic has forced us to rethink our teaching methods and to incorporate the online teaching methods; it is therefore important to explore how these new learning models affect prospective teachers, what resources are most appropriate, what pedagogical benefits, and how to design new learning methodologies. However, what I don't understand is what exactly do the authors mean by 'learning landscapes'? (It only occurs once in the text.) Although the paper represents a significant contribution for theory, but the literature review is missing. Please dedicate a separated paragraph to this. I do miss that there is no mention of curriculum changes during the pandemic.

Overall, each of these chapters is too short and needs more detail. The study is only 11 pages long (plus References). From a methodological point of view and in terms of the results obtained, the study is, in my opinion, a work worthy of support, but I would expect the authors to explain each chapter in more detail. Finally, what is the authors' opinion about SUSTAINABILITY (as important aims and objectives in the HE? The ‘References’ also needs to be expanded. With regard to the above-mentioned facts, I would ask the authors to revise, complete and resubmit the paper. Authors can find a lot of papers in this topic.

Introduction

However, what I don't understand is what exactly do the authors mean by 'learning landscapes'? (It only occurs once in the text.)

The article incorporates what is meant in the literature by "learning landscapes" with support from authors.

Although the paper represents a significant contribution for theory, but the literature review is missing. Please dedicate a separated paragraph to this.

The introduction section is divided from the literature review section, creating a new section, and the recommended references are introduced.

I do miss that there is no mention of curriculum changes during the pandemic.

A few lines are added indicating that the pandemic has given rise to new scenarios that have led to changes in curricula and, consequently, to the adaptation of university students to them.

but I would expect the authors to explain each chapter in more detail.

Taking into account the comments made by the evaluators, this premise has already been incorporated.

Conclusions

what is the authors' opinion about SUSTAINABILITY (as important aims and objectives in the HE?

The link between the work presented and the focus of the journal and the theme of the monograph is included in the conclusions section.

The ‘References’ also needs to be expanded.
