The idea of this manuscript is interesting and important. However, it suffers from some drawbacks which are listed below.

1. The abstract and introduction sections do not clearly describe the importance of the research work.

2. The inexorable link between temporal changes, coastal erosion and hazard assessment lacks detailed background information.

3. In part VI, the proposed time-varying evaluation research method is insufficient in the manuscript.

4. The potential scientific significance and application value are not prominent enough.
