Analysis of the Factors Affecting Environmental Pollution for Sustainable Development in the Future—The Case of Vietnam

This is an interesting analysis of World Bank data on the influence of foreign direct investment and economic growth on environmental pollution in Vietnam. The abstract is well written with all the important information provided, and the conclusion is consistent with the objectives and data. I therefore recommend publication of the manuscript after the following minor revisions:

1.       The English language requires thorough checking throughout.

2.       For indexing and more visibility, keywords should exclude words from the title.

3.       Subscripts should be used appropriately, e.g. on CO2.

4.       Equations should be numbered and referred to in the text.

5.       All variables and constants in the equations should be explained.

6.       Fig 3 should show what the axes are.

This study is to “Analysis of the Factors Affecting Environmental Pollution for Sustainable Development in the Future—The Case of Vietnam” which is an interesting study however there are some issues need to be addressed before the paper accepted for publication in the Sustainability Journal.

·         The abstract is established directly with the objectives of the study. However, I suggest to provide a two line background that what is the issue that the authors are going to examine

·         I suggest to establish more logically the abstract. It would be better to rearrange the abstract.

·         I suggest to add recent papers references in the introduction section. Likewise, the introduction section should start with the background for few lines and then go towards the problem. The introduction is too short and that’s must need to be improved. I suggest some articles which can be included in the introduction and in the literature https://doi.org/10.56556/jescae.v1i3.181, https://doi.org/10.56556/jescae.v1i3.226, https://doi.org/10.56556/jescae.v1i4.269, https://doi.org/10.56556/jescae.v1i4.288

·         The organization of the study should be provided at the end of introduction

·         The literature review is also too short and must need to be improved to clearly show the research gap in the previous research. I suggest few articles to be include and the authors should add more articles as well from the Sustainability journal. A minimum one page literature review is required

·         The data variables should be further explained in the methodology section and must be supported with references such as  CO2 emissions (million ton per year) used recently by this study “Khan, I., Han, L., Bibi, R., & Khan, H. (2022). Linking natural resources, innovations, and environment in the Belt and Road Initiative countries using dynamic panel techniques: the role of innovations and renewable energy consumption. Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 1-10.

·         The results are given too directly. I suggest to start the results with a short background and arrange properly. The results and discussions need to be improved and support with references.

·         Add limitation and future research direction in the conclusion. The conclusion need to be further improved and well arranged

·         I suggest to check the whole text as well to arrange properly the tables and figures
