This article reports on the use of coal for energy generation in China, discussing popular knowledge about that topic and presenting considerations about the use of VR/AR with educational purposes. Generally speaking, the paper is well written.

(1) From the formal point of view, the submitted document has some minor visual errors… such as blank spaces or bad aligned figures. While this is a minor detail (that can be corrected prior to the final version), there are additional typos and badly written sentences. Particularly, English style should be carefully reviewed to avoid some weird sentences.

(2) The manuscript is more toward the use of technology in education. Thus, it becomes mandatory to include the response of subjects on such technology. Include, what were the challenges in preparing a VR model, such as low light conditions in underground settings.

(3) Some data and surveys -that have been carried out by the authors- It is better to have data support.

(4) Make figures more descriptive and in some places, the captions don’t follow a specific format.

(5) The paper analyzed many cases in China. However, the paper will be published in an international journal. So, please add some reference about the mining site outside of China. Thank you.
