Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper examined the relationship between disparities in social vulnerability and food security among households in neighboring weredas in Ethiopia (Raya Alamata in the Tigray region and Raya Kobo in Amhara). Using propensity score matching (PSM), the study compared the degree of social vulnerability and food security of households, and found that the food security of households are determined by the availability of irrigation systems, the provision of agricultural inputs, and the availability of extension services. It has practical implications.

Thank you so much for writing an excellent paper. However,, this needs some minor corrections are stated as follows:

1. In the section of introduction, the author uses too much words to explain vulnerability,  social vulnerability, and food security. A very long passage.

2.    PSM addresses the endogeneity problem caused by observable variables. There are still unobservable differences between the two regions.

3.References also have formatting problem, like , No.23 on page 20.

The presented article gives a good information to the reader. However it completely looks like a theory based article, to make further interest on it, it is suggested to add more results in the form of pictorial and graphical. Need to enhance the results section. Without this not able to identify the significant of the carried-out work.
