Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This manuscript proposes a traffic safety evaluation model based on ordered Logistic. The method is reasonable. However, I don't know whether the results are correct because the dataset is not available. I have several concerns regarding the manuscript.

* Figure 1 is not clear.

* Please describe the content of the dataset in detail and give some

examples.

* I would recommend that the entire manuscript be edited by someone very proficient in written English. For examples:

Reviewer 2 Report

Thanks for the opportunity of reviewing this interesting article. The study proposed a method to analyze the correlation between drivers' risky driving and traffic accidents. I am sure the contents of the manuscript could be of relevance to local authorities and could be replicated by researchers in other countries. However, several flaws impede this article to be published in its current form. I am attaching some comments in the following lines aiming at improving the article. General comments: Please, consider changing the term “accident” to “crash.” Authors should consider highlighting the difference between road crashes (preventable to a greater extent, caused by distraction or misconduct) and road accidents and specifying to which term are they going to refer. See references included further below for further information. Knechel, N. (2015). When a Crash Is Really an Accident. Journal of Trauma Nursing, 22, 6, 321- 329. Stewart, A. E. & Lord, J. H. (2002). Motor Vehicle Crash Versus Accident: A Change in Terminology is Necessary. Journal of Traumatic Stress, 15(4), 333-335. I suggest changing the term “bad behaviors” for risky behaviors throughout the manuscript. Previous research has precisely used the term risky behavior for pedestrians and cyclists. Alonso, F., Oviedo-Trespalacios, O., Gene-Morales, J., & Useche, S. A. (2021). Assessing risky and protective behaviors among pedestrians in the Dominican Republic: New evidence about pedestrian safety in the Caribbean. Journal of Transport & Health, 22, 101145. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jth.2021.101145 Useche, S. A., Gene-Morales, J., Alonso, F., O’Hern, S., & Stephens, A. N. (2022). Unsafety on two wheels, or social prejudice? Proxying behavioral reports on bicycle and e-scooter risky riding – a mixed method study. Transportation Research Part F: Traffic Psychology and Behaviour, 89, 168– 182. Although short, I found the article difficult to follow. Writing needs to be thoroughly reviewed. The Methods section should be written in past simple, not future. It is quite difficult to follow the text. Specific comments: Abstract: Why is Overspeed capitalized? Please, correct it if necessary. Please, in the sentence: “When the vehicle deceleration is less than or equal 19 to -4m/s2, the probability of an accident is 21.174 times that when the vehicle deceleration is at -2~- 20 2.5m/s2; when the vehicle acceleration is greater than or equal to 3m/s2; the probability of an accident 21 is 15.287 times that the vehicle acceleration is at 1 ~1.5m/s2; ; the accident probability of 23 a speeding vehicle is 5.882 times that of a non-speeding vehicle; the likelihood of an accident on a 24 bend is 4.954 times that on a straight” specify if the probability of an accident is 21.174 times greater or smaller compared with. Lines 45-47, consider rewriting the sentence “Secondly, the vehicle's rapid acceleration, rapid deceleration, and Overspeed that the engine often in a large load state of work, which not only consumes oil, increases wear, and shortens engine life but also pollutes the air environment.” Line 54 and 58, please add the citation next to “Tsubota et al.” and “Liu Ziyang et al.” Please, do the same in all the similar citations appearing in the paragraph and the whole manuscript. Each citation should be included in each sentence other explicitly explained that one citation accompanies several sentences. Line 74, suddenly a “(2)” appears. Where is “(1)”? Lines 92-101, the authors write “many scholars.” and are talking about previous research but are not including citations. Please, include citations in the paragraph. Line 110, should be “the five typical urban (...)” Table 1, please include the units inside a parenthesis not with “/”. Lines 113-123, please, rewrite the sentences included in these lines. Text coherence needs to be improved. Line 140, if “Abnormal data removal:” is a subtitle, please, use subtitle formatting. Otherwise, just include it with the text. Same with “The specific rules are.” And the rest of the subsection. Line 159, the sentence is not finished. Line 212, please, remove “Error! Reference source not found.” Line 295, please, change the term “paper” to study, manuscript, or another formal synonym. Please, review it throughout the manuscript. References: Reference number 6 (and the corresponding in-text citation) is wrong. Jose Antonio is a compound name and therefore, should only be presented as initials. Santiago should be the name and Zazo the surname. I do not think the references normative allows to add etc after presenting two authors. Why is the name of the journal capitalized? Please, review all the references, there are several mistakes. It would take me too much time to point one per one.

Reviewer 2 Report

There are many duplicated words, citations, and references. It seems the authors have included the new modifications but not deleted the old words from the revised version of the manuscript. It is quite difficult to follow the article in its current form. I kindly ask to resend the article in its final form without the words that will not be present in the final version of the manuscript.
