Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The introduction gives you the main facts and figures about Somalia, its characteristics and some of its problems. A definition of the entrepreneur is given.

In the introduction chapter, the authors review almost all the literature that has been appended to the article. In the course of their treatment, they mention a number of studies on entrepreneurship. They list the aims of these studies without mentioning specific results. They are used only to support the need for their own study.

It is regrettable that the traditional 'literature' section is missing, although it is needed and the length of the article could have coped with it. It would also be worthwhile to consider further experiences in agricultural higher education and to expand the bibliography in this direction.

Some examples are not exhaustive:

DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.7194084

DOI: 10.18178/ijiet.2019.9.9.1275

DOI: 10.4018/978-1-6684-4050-6.ch002

DOI: 10.2307/1240499

The study covers a total sample of 77 members. Unfortunately, we do not know how the data were collected. The results presented are mainly descriptive, with 8 factors mentioned.

The conclusions drawn are too general.

Further work could improve the quality of the paper.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript entitled “Factors Affecting Entrepreneurship of Somali Students Studying Agriculture” investigated the elements that influence Somali students who study agriculture in Turkey from becoming entrepreneurs in their home nations' agricultural sectors.

revise all the manuscript for grammatical mistakes and English polishing. The paper contains some long and repetitive sentences.

Abstract

The main problem of the abstract is related to English mistakes; please revise this section. Also please add the study hypothesis here.

Another point related to the result (lines 24-25); it isn’t impressive and should be modified.

Introduction

Lines 29-33: provide references

Material and methods

The material and method are not sufficient. Please divide the materials and methods into different subsections and explain each section; also dd references for this part.

Result

Lines 144-146: The sum of the numbers mentioned in this section is 84.4% not 100%. Please check it.

discussion

The main problem of this paper is related to the discussion. The discussion is not well done. To interpretation of those, you need to compare them with other studies. What are the strength or weaknesses of your results? What is your interpretation of them? Make your interpretation strong with other works.

Reviewer 3 Report

The topic of the article is very interesting and brings a new perspective on international agricultural education. Unfortunately, from a scientific point of view, the article has several significant shortcomings. One of the most fundamental shortcoming is that the elemental data consists only
of a questionnaire survey. The relevance is determined just by the willingness or unwillingness
of students to answer truthfully, however, the reality may differ substantially.

The authors do not respect individual chapters. The Results chapter contains descriptions of methods which should appear in the M+M chapter. The obtained results are in the Discussion chapter and a real discussion is missing completely. The conclusions avoid formulating specific findings and share only general phrases.

It is evident that Somalia is not a climatically favourable country for agriculture which I consider
a primary and logical cause of the students' reluctance to devote themselves to this field.

I recommend to the authors to withdraw the article, edit it considerably and resubmit it. I further recommend to enrich the article with an analysis of agricultural production in Somalia and to elaborate on the interesting findings of the authors, that in the Somali context it is crucial for farmers to have another source of income which can help them achieve a better education. Also I recommend
to develop a reflection on other directions of agriculture in Somalia such as Urban agriculture, vertical farms, seawater desalination etc. I also suggest  to formulate a feedback for international education
of students.
