Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

1. What is the main question addressed by the research?

2. Do you consider the topic original or relevant to the field? Does it address a specific gap in the field?

3. More discussions should be added rather than the description of the figures.

4. The novelty of the work must be clearly addressed and discussed, compare your research with existing research findings and highlight novelty.

5. Conclusion section is missing some perspective related to the future research work, quantify main research findings.

Reviewer 2 Report

This manuscript/draft paper considers 30 Chinese provinces and 21 cities, assessing coal, coke, and diesel consumption data from [2004 to 2020]. Using the carbon emission factor method to quantify carbon emissions, spatial auto-correlation of emissions across various regions is evaluated by employing Moran's I.

The Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression is utilized to examine the effects of the green economy on carbon emissions from both temporal and spatial perspectives.

Our recommendations to improve more the manuscript are as following:

1. Literature Review & research hypotheses:

  - This section is messed in this study. Try to add the theory farmework and propose the hypotheses (H1......., etc.) to validate your study.

  - Recent research papers (reference cited papers) up todate from sustainability MDPI,  Springer, Wiley, Pubmed, etc. data bases  can help you to improve the theoritical section in your study.

2. Results/Findings:

- Spatio-temporal trend analysis : Authors indicated that 'this study employs the Geographically and Temporally  Weighted Regression (GTWR) model and the objective is to ascertain the impact of the green  economy on carbon emissions'.  The green economy has more variables to be inclued in this sudy (not just : a) Economic Development; b) Social Development; c) Ecological Environment; d) Governmental Policy). It was more significate to includ other varibles to provide more statistical significance impact on these Chinise provinces carbon emissions. The model used can join more variable (i.e. more other studies used VARIMA and GARCH models for the longitudinal time series) to test the impact effect of the G-Economy/ C Emissions.

-Spatial heterogeneity analysis:  all figures not very clear/size (Figure 8) !

- Analysis of the impact of green economic development on carbon emissions : ""Regarding government policy, post-green economic development, all three indicators have manifested a substantial positive impact on carbon dioxide CO2 emission reduction"" : Author invited to explain more the plaining of the Chinise government policy for the future years 2024-2030.

3. Discussion: Authors must improve more the discussion section and give more agrments with reference cited papers related to the current study. In this case, the discussion section will provide more significance and implication policy. More three paragraphes must be added related to the study's findings.

4. Conclusion, study's limitation & future prespective research : try to change and revise this section according this section title.

5. Reference: Add DOI references to all your reference cited papers in this section.

Reviewer 3 Report

1.       The authors should provide a comprehensive overview of previous studies in the field and clearly articulate the unique contributions of their paper to the existing body of literature in the introduction.

2.       There is no literature review section, an essential component the authors should include.

3.       In the "Discussion" section, it is essential for the authors to thoroughly analyze and interpret their findings, providing justifications for their results. They should also establish connections and comparisons with relevant previous studies to contextualize their findings within the existing literature.

Reviewer 4 Report

I have carefully reviewed the manuscript entitled "The Impact of the Green Economy on Carbon Emission Intensity: Comparisons, Challenges, and Mitigating Strategies". The manuscript is well written and clearly presented. Below I list a few comments to improve the paper. 1.The differences between this study and previous literature should be summarized clearly. 2. If possible add some key limitations and the future direction of the study in the conclusion section.

Reviewer 5 Report

The Impact of the Green Economy on Carbon Emission Intensity:

The conclusion is long and better to be as a result and to be a shorter conclusion.

If the author can add justification for some results and support it with references. for example:

In lines 424 - 428 or Figure 11. you explain that:

With regard to government policy, science, and technology expenditure markedly reduces carbon emission intensity in the eastern and central regions, while it robustly augments it in the western region. Environmental protection expenditure enhances carbon emissions across all regions. The harmless treatment rate of domestic waste exerts no significant impact on carbon emissions.

What is the resource or reference for this information? How do you confirm it? what are the negative things has happened related to the increase in carbon emissions? Are all policy is correct and positively appear only?

Figure 2. Study area. Not clear and need an explanation on the map, add names of regions.

Figure 4. Temporal and spatial variation trends of carbon emissions

try to add the source of data below the figure.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

Thank your for your revised version.

There is another change to do:

The discussion section must be before the CONCLUSION ! (read the Sustainability authorguidline).

5. Discussion ;''This article calculates the carbon emissions of 30 Chinese provinces and cities, de- 633 rived from their primary energy consumption, and formulates a comprehensive, 634 four-dimensional framework for green economy development. Employing a GTWR 635 model, the study scrutinizes the influence of green economy advancement...........'

Please, add at least 02 new discussion paragraphs !

6. CONCLUSION section !

And, finaly, 7. Reference section :

The manuscript needs minor revision english language.
