Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

‎After reading the manuscript‎, ‎I found that it is well-written‎. ‎The results are interesting‎, ‎with clear objectives‎. ‎The topic is an important subject‎. ‎‎This manuscript‎ will be recommended for publication after some revisions‎.

1. Punctuation marks should be checked throughout the manuscript‎, especially after the equations.

2. Please mention which challenges you face to obtain the results.

3. Please add a section for future recommendations.

Best regards.

Why was the heating rate of 10 ⁰C/minute, sample weight 5–10 mg from -50 ⁰C to 150 ⁰C chosen for the present study?

“surfactant in a plastic cup for 10-15 seconds with an electronic mixer at 3000 rpm. The mixture was then allowed to degas for 2 minutes. The pre-weighed A-side, which is the Polymeric MDI with an iso-cyanate index of 110, was added to the mixture, and the resulting mixture was stirred for 7-10 seconds” ----- Why such timings and rpm were selected for these purposes?

How were the values given in Tables 4 and 5 selected or calculated? If selected then what are the sources?

More details are needed about the FoamSim function code. How does it store the valid gausses? How does it understand that such gausses are valid?

For the Matlab programme, why xp+ xs + xhs was chosen equal to one?

The Matlab code used for this purpose is needed to be adduced as an appendix.

The boundary conditions and limitations of this iterative process need to be mentioned clearly.

The authors did computational research on the simulation of rice straw-based PU moieties. The manuscript showed poor information with minor characterization.  I regret to say that I would reject this manuscript for publication on sustainability unless they can improve their study.

1- Information on the experimental part was not well described, and lack of images of the sample. The only information showed was gel reaction temperature.

2- The curve fitting comparing computational and experimental research is only described in Figure 5, which does not show the significant novelty in this study.

3- MATLAB algorithm in Figure 3 was not well described and could confuse the reader.

This manuscript's English writing needs to be polished. This manuscript contains spelling mistakes too.

The authors did improve their study's quality. I can understand the complex works they have done, so I suggest accepting the manuscript after minor revision.  I would like to ask for the addition of the answer to the second question in the manuscript.
