Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Hello dear Dr,

The important points related to the manuscript entitled “Characterization and energy potential of broiler manure reared under different flooring materials” are as follows;

Abstract

L 24-25: Please correct; Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), and Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF)

L 32-33: “Using the plastic floor with antimicrobial additives harmed the potential for biogas and 32 CH4 production.” Why?

Materials and Methods

Typically, a substance is used as a standard to evaluate the accuracy of the biogas production experiment. In which part of the test, what combination did you use for this subject?

L 90- nanotechnology antimicrobial additive; Please Identify antimicrobial additive components and analysis

Statistical analysis

L 153: How is the effect of each factor 1 and 2 on biogas production evaluated? Because of experiment result in Line 32.

1:  plastic floor

2: antimicrobial additives

Conclusions

Does the topic of the journal correspond to the findings?

“Thus, the production of broiler chickens on plastic flooring is recommended to reduce the amounts of waste generated and promote a greater 326 yield of biogas and methane with the anaerobic digestion of excreta.” Vs. Sustainability

General

Kindly go thoroughly through the MS as it shows many many inconsistencies with variable abbreviations which make the reader really hard to follow.

Abstract

Needs reworking the entire abstract to show the problem and describe the research objective. Explain the experiment with treatments and variables with notations that you have chosen to answer the research question/s. Provide key findings of the experiment and present a brief conclusion remark.

Introduction

Well written. Needs some inclusions . Please refer to the attached doc

2.4 Statistical analysis

We see a lot of significant interaction effects for many variables. Please explain how you analyzed the data when Bedding material and Time interactions were significant or the main effects. Although the mean separation method has been described no mean separation test results were included in the concerned tables

Results and Discussion

The entire discussion has been developed disregarding the mean separation test results (We don't see those results in respective tables as well). Kindly re-do the entire discussion taking the mean separation test results into consideration.

Please go through the specific  comments shown in the attachment

Reviewer 1 Report

Hello dear,

Thank you for your attention

Please check this comment again (Materials and Methods)

"Typically, a substance is used as a standard to evaluate the accuracy of the biogas production experiment. I could not see this item "

Dear Reviewer,

as previously explained, in the these analyzes, all the reagents and inoculum used were exactly the same. The only change was the substrates used, which are the focus of our study. Thus, no standard substance was used in the development of this methodology. In the tests we usually conduct, we usually do not use a control substance because the inoculum used is a fixed substance, which does not generate an additional contribution to gas production.

We hope that we have clarified the question asked.

Best regards
