Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper establishes a tripartite evolutionary game model that considers three core stakeholders: the Bank and financial institution (BFI), developer, and consumer. The model aims to study the role of green finance in guiding the development of green buildings. The topic is interesting, the work has some new ideas and the result has policy implications. But there are some issues to be modified as follows.

(1) How to define the scope of green finance? Can all of the financial support provided by financial institutions for the green building industry be included in the scope of green finance? In fact, even green industries have non-green financial support. This article does not seem to strictly distinguish this point in model construction.

(2) What are the advantages of the model established in this article compared to existing models (such as general equilibrium models)? Further clarification is needed.

(3) Assumption 5 of the article states that “Green buildings offer higher economic, social, and environmental benefits to homebuyers.” This largely limits the results and gives people a sense of anticipation about the conclusion. Where are the "new ideas" in the results of this article? Further clarification is needed.

(4) In the part of “6. Evolutionary Simulation Analysis”, how does green finance work? This is not evident enough.

(5) Are there any national and regional differences in the policy recommendations proposed in the article? Further elaboration is possible.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript focuses on the driving role of molecular green finance on the development of the green building industry by constructing a tripartite evolutionary game model, and has some theoretical and practical value. It needs to be improved in the following aspects:

(1) A summary of the rest of the paper can be added at the end of "1.Introduction".

(2) The theoretical and practical contributions of this study need to be elaborated.

(3) The choice of "developer", "BFI" and "consumer" needs to be further explained.

1)The abstract could benefit from providing more specific details about the research methodology used in establishing the tripartite evolutionary game model. It should briefly mention the data sources, mathematical approach, or any simulations used in the study.

2)The abstract lacks concrete quantitative results or key findings from the research. Adding a sentence summarizing the main results, such as the percentage increase in green building adoption or the impact of green finance on project success rates, would enhance the clarity and impact of the abstract.

3)The abstract could be more concise by eliminating redundant or repetitive phrases and focusing on the essential points. Streamlining the language would make it easier for readers to grasp the main message quickly.

4) If figures are used from any sources then it is compulsory to cite the reference

Cite the following Ref.

A generalized payment policy for deteriorating items when demand depends on price, stock, and advertisement under carbon tax regulations

Combined Effect of Carbon Emission, Exchange Scheme, Trade Credit, and Advertisement Efforts in a Buyer’s Inventory Decision

needs improvement in English at some places.

Manuscript Title: Can Green Finance Drive the Development of Green Building Industry? - Based on Evolutionary Game Theory

Author’s Name:  ShaoLiang Li, XiaZhong Zheng  and Qin Zeng

The study establishes a tripartite evolutionary game model that considers three core stakeholders: the Bank and financial institution, developer, and consumer. The model aims to study the role of green finance in guiding the development of green buildings.. The manuscript is fascinating and has real application. The manuscript is well-written and well-organized. I recommend some minor modifications to make the study more reader-friendly. My suggestions are as follows:

1.      Enrich the abstract with some numerical conclusions at the end part of the abstract. Don't use abbreviations in the abstract. Put a list of all abbreviations which make the model more reader-friendly.

2.      Provide a subsection for the objective within the Introduction section. Remove the research questions from the problem definition section.

3.      Replace all old references with a new ones. Instead of putting a "right" sign, illustrate the key findings in the Author's contribution table.

4.      Use proper units for each notation in the notation section. Use proper references for the assumptions if the authors do not create them.

5.      Please include some comparisons with existing literature theoretically and numerically in the numerical section if possible.

6.      Provide some managerial implementation of your study before conclusions and more future extensions with proper references in the conclusion.

7.      Compare your numerical result with the paper given below and highlight which one is better.
