Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The author mentions some experiences of tactical urban planning in the world, but has omitted to mention similar experiences in the Arab world; the following references, to name but a few, are examples among others and should be cited:

https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/82050895.pdf

https://onekeyresources.milwaukeetool.com/en/tactical-urbanism#:~:text=The%20transformation%20of%20Times%20Square,Square%20into%20a%20pedestrian%20zone

Twitter and social networks, in general, serve not only as a source of information, but also as vehicles for triggering the initiative, tracking its development, success, and, eventually, providing feedback. The author, on the other hand, appears to only utilize Twitter as a source of information.

Furthermore, the author does not specify when the tweets were collected or how they evolved as the study continued. Even if the study is qualitative, we believe the sample size of 113 tweets is too small.

Furthermore, the role of the various population categories was not described. What was the role of women, participation in social networks or actual participation through actions on the ground?

What is the significance of Figure 2? "Twitter frequency over a ten-month period." How do we explain the declining trend since the top in February? Disillusionment, project progress, or heat?

Braun and Clarke's (299-300) six-phase theme analysis approach was adopted without any debate or comparison with other methodologies, particularly ones that had previously dealt with data retrieved from social networks (do they exist?).

Despite the fact that the author is aware of the study's limitations (690-698), the lack of criticism renders the piece a protracted, dithyrambic litany; even a small dosage of criticism would have been helpful.

- The author mentions some experiences of tactical urban planning in the world, but has omitted to mention similar experiences in the Arab world; the following references, to name but a few, are examples among others and should be cited:

https://onekeyresources.milwaukeetool.com/en/tactical- urbanism#:~:text=The%20transformation%20of%20Times%20Squ are,Square%20into%20a%20pedestrian%20zone

Response:

Thank you for your valuable suggestion. We've successfully incorporated one of the references into the paper's content. However, we wanted to inform you that the other link you shared seems to be inactive or non-functional.

- Twitter and social networks, in general, serve not only as a source of information, but also as vehicles for triggering the initiative, tracking its development, success, and, eventually, providing feedback. The author, on the other hand, appears to only utilize Twitter as a source of information.

Response:

We sincerely appreciate your invaluable suggestion, which has greatly enhanced the quality and depth of our content. Your insightful ideas have been meticulously incorporated into the relevant sections of the text.

- Furthermore, the author does not specify when the tweets were collected or how they evolved as the study continued. Even if the study is qualitative, we believe the sample size of 113 tweets is too small.

Response:

While we acknowledge that the time frame of data collection was previously outlined in the methods section, we would like to emphasize that we have included additional comprehensive details on the meticulous process of tweet collection throughout the course of the initiative, spanning over a period of ten months.

In the methods section, it was explained that the research teams tracked tweets until no further tweets were posted, resulting in a smaller sample size. However, it is important to note that despite the relatively small size, the tweets collected are highly focused on specific content directly related to the initiative under study. This targeted approach ensures that the collected tweets provide valuable insights and analysis specifically relevant to the research objectives.

- Furthermore, the role of the various population categories was not described. What was the role of women, participation in social networks or actual participation through actions on the ground?

Response:

We understand that the initiatives' team and their roles may extend beyond the scope of the paper, and it is worth noting that this team was not directly involved in the data collection process.

- What is the significance of Figure 2? "Twitter frequency over a ten- month period." How do we explain the declining trend since the top in February? Disillusionment, project progress, or heat?

Response:

We have provided an expanded and detailed explanation of the Figure, offering a more comprehensive understanding of its content and context.

- Braun and Clarke's (299-300) six-phase theme analysis approach was adopted without any debate or comparison with other methodologies, particularly ones that had previously dealt with data retrieved from social networks (do they exist?).

Response:

We have thoroughly described the methodology employed in our study within the methods and data analysis sections. While we acknowledge the potential value in comparing our methodology with other approaches, such an extensive comparison would exceed the scope of our current study.

- Despite the fact that the author is aware of the study's limitations (690-698), the lack of criticism renders the piece a protracted, dithyrambic litany; even a small dosage of criticism would have been helpful.

Response:

We have taken into account your suggestion and revised the discussion section accordingly. Additionally, we have created a separate sub-section to specifically address the limitations and strengths of our study. This organization allows for a more focused and comprehensive analysis of both the potential shortcomings and notable strengths of our research.

- First of all, the introduction lacks sufficient information about previous research undertaken and the gaps this study aims to address. It would be beneficial to provide more details on the specific research issue being addressed in this study and how this study is different from the previous similar literature.

Response:

We have carefully modified the introductory section to better align with your suggestion. The study objectives have also been revised, taking into consideration the unique aspects that make this study noteworthy and distinct from previous research. By incorporating your input, we have aimed to highlight the special contributions and significance of our study in a more effective manner.

- Authors are also suggested to include a paragraph at the end of introduction section to outline organization of remaining sections.

Response:

We appreciate your feedback, and as per your suggestion, we have included a paragraph at the end of the introduction section that provides an overview of the subsequent sections in the paper. This addition serves to provide readers with a clear roadmap of the organization and content of the study, enhancing the overall structure and coherence of the paper.

- Next, the discussion section also requires further enhancement in terms of comparing the results with previous studies. Specifically, authors should emphasize the contribution of this study in the context of the existing recent literature.

Response:

By carefully considering your feedback, we have endeavored to ensure that the revised discussion section provides a more comprehensive and nuanced analysis of the study's results. Our aim in making these revisions was to enhance the clarity and coherence of the discussion, enabling a deeper understanding and interpretation of the findings. We sincerely hope that these revisions have achieved the desired effect and contribute to the overall strength of the paper.

- Instead of discussing limitations in the discussion section, I recommend authors to include a separate sub-section in the conclusion on the limitations of the study and provide directions for future research to enhance the comprehensive nature of the manuscript.

Response:

As mentioned earlier in response to reviewer 1's feedback, we have taken your suggestion into careful consideration and implemented the necessary revisions to the discussion section. Furthermore, we have thoughtfully incorporated a dedicated sub-section to address the limitations and strengths of our study. This deliberate organization enables a more concentrated and thorough analysis of both the potential shortcomings and noteworthy strengths of our research.

- However, authors are suggested to include a separate sub-section in the discussion section providing implications for authorities and researchers based on the findings of this study.

Response:

In response to the suggestions received, we have diligently revised the discussion section and introduced subheadings to facilitate a comprehensive exploration of the study implications. This strategic revision allows for a more structured and cohesive presentation of the implications arising from our research findings. By incorporating these subheadings, we aim to provide readers with a seamless navigation experience, enabling them to grasp the broader significance and potential applications of our study with utmost clarity.
