Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

First the abstract is poorly written, the research method is missing as well as sampling method employed is not mentioned.

The introduction too long and hard to follow, Even though the research setting was appropriately set, it should have been brief.

Research methodology: this section seems to be written well. However, the authors might improve by taking the following points into consideration. First, the data collection and analysis methods should have been justified. Second, the measurement items of the various constructs could have been elaborated more.

So far are good

Thank you for inviting me to review this manuscript. I find the current manuscript interesting. I appreciate that there has been a lot of reading and ground covered. However, I have a few suggestions to improve the manuscript:

Abstract

·       The practical implications section could be further developed to discuss how these findings can be applied in the context of Pakistan's tourism industry and beyond. Elaborate on how the research findings can be applied by decision-makers within Pakistan's tourism sector and provide insights into the potential challenges and opportunities.

·       The abstract also didn’t mention the limitations of the study, which is important for transparency and for helping readers assess the generalizability of the findings. Hence, I would suggest that the author mention implications and limitations sections in a few sentences to increase the credibility of the research.

Introduction

·       Consider starting the introduction with an engaging anecdote, statistic, or scenario that hooks the reader's attention and highlights the relevance of the topic.

·       The flow between different ideas and concepts could be smoother. Transitions between paragraphs could be improved to ensure a seamless progression of ideas. Hence, I would suggest working on providing smoother transitions between paragraphs, ensuring that each paragraph logically follows from the previous one.

·       P.2 line 47 Brndtland (1987) please add this cite in the references section.

·       P.2 line 63 ‘The Brundtland report’ what is this? Add this one also in the reference section.

·       p.5 line 231 need in-text references and you may add current reference to the following work by Uslu et al. (2023). You may add this recent cite that published in our journal in the same page line 230 and/or 234. The full reference is: Uslu, A., Erul, E., Santos, J. A. C., Obradović, S., & Custódio Santos, M. Literature Review

·       P.7 line 310 and 312,  please check out the ‘Instructions for authors’ (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/sustainability/instructions) and change in-text citations depending on it. “Citations and References in Supplementary files are permitted provided that they also appear in the main text and in the reference list. In the text, reference numbers should be placed in square brackets [ ], and placed before the punctuation; for example [1], [1–3] or [1,3]. For embedded citations in the text with pagination, use both parentheses and brackets to indicate the reference number and page numbers; for example [5] (p. 10). or [6] (pp. 101–105).

·       Please add an section that explain the social learning theory SLT (who found, where did it use, what does it mean, how researcher did use it etc.)

Methods:

·       What sampling technique did you use?

·       Which software programs did you use?

·       Did you translate the Questionnaire?

·       Did you used the 2nd ordering, if yes explain the reason? Or explain how GL with 27 items has only one factor which seems to me impossible.

·       How long did the authors spend time for data collection?

·       Is there any specific study site that authors can share with us?

·       Give more demographic info about the sample?

Data Analysis:

           ·   Please share all AVE and CR scores for each factor?

           ·   Have you ever erased or deleted items? If yes, explain why?

           ·   Where are the fit indices for both CFA and SEM?

What are the Rsquare scores for dependent variables?

Discussion & Conclusion:

·       p.11 line 507-511,  please check out the ‘Instructions for authors’ (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/sustainability/instructions) and change in-text citations depending on it. “Citations and References in Supplementary files are permitted provided that they also appear in the main text and in the reference list. For embedded citations in the text with pagination, use both parentheses and brackets to indicate the reference number and page numbers; for example [5] (p. 10). or [6] (pp. 101–105).

I wish the author(s) the best of luck with the revision.

Reviewer 3 Report

Dear authors,

thank you for the opportunity to review the manuscript entitled "Cultivating Sustainability: The Role of Generative Leadership, Green Passion, and Green Work Behavior in Pakistan's Tourism Industry". The manuscript contains an interestingly elaborated view of generative leadership with respect to sustainable performance in Pakistan's tourism industry.

I have the following comments:

- In the abstract, it is advisable to add the main aim of the manuscript as well as information about the way the research was carried out, or the methods used by the authors.

- On line 115 - 117 it is stated: "Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented volatility, uncertainty, and ambiguity for the tourism and hospitality industry of Pakistan, as it has globally." In this case, it would be appropriate to support this statement specific data - the difference before the pandemic and after the pandemic.

- Line 397: "Initially, all three, four, and five-star hospitals were targeted." The authors probably meant hotels.

- I recommend adding more information about the sample of respondents - what is their distribution by job position, by gender, geographical distribution of individual hotels?

- Basic information about the questionnaire is also missing - how many questions it contained, in which time period the data were collected. Also, the specific wording of the questions and possible answers, primarily those that related to individual hypotheses.

- As part of the evaluation of the hypotheses, the authors also characterized other studies supporting their research, but it would be appropriate to supplement their added value resulting from the research.

I thank the authors and wish them success in scientific research.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

Thanks for allowing me to see significant improvement in this paper. Now, it seems that it is much better than the first version (the author(s) made a huge effort to improve the manuscript). It would be a quality addition to the Sustainability.
