Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Thank you so much for give me the opportunity to review this paper.

In my opinion it is already a great work but I suggest some minor aspects that need to be improved.

- a more complete and deeper conclusion;

- a paragraph about the theoretical and practical implication could be useful;

- a paragraph about limitation and strenghs could be helpful for future research and to have insights about the future.

In my opinion some minor editing of English is required.

This paper tries to describe the effectiveness of promoting vegetable and fruit consumption behavior program among preschool children. The paper has a number of flaws.

1. The paper is littered with a number of grammatical errors that affect comprehension of some of the concepts. Line 10,20,23,34,38,42,43,71,73 and many more The opening statement in the abstracts needs clarity.

2. Line 31: The authors state fruit consumption in children to be 30%, however, its not clear how this was assessed, Did authors use AMDR, Prevalences, or food composition tables? Clarity needed

3. Line 37: What is the standard, Kindly complete the sentences.

4. Line 56: According to which study?

5. F&V are conventional acronym for fruits and veetables hoever, Its not defined at first use

6. Research instruments, Materials and Methods  section: I am not sure why the authors numbered the points. It makes it difficult to follow> Authors should stick to paragraphs

7. In the methods sections, too much details were provided and I am not sure its relevance to the paper. Can authors summarize

8. There are a number of issues eg.  Line 180; experimental instruments and the numbering in that section doesnt lood approapriate.

9. then on line 194, author begins sentence with a figure.

In the discussion section, the authors do not discuss the results. They fail to compare their results with other results, making me doubt the conclusions made. This is a major flaw in the work.

Extensive revision required

The development of a program to promote vegetable and fruit consumption behavior in preschool children is an interesting research topic. Please add clarification to the next few questions.

1.     What criteria were used to select the sample of preschool children and caregivers?

2.     How was the program developed based on the lifestyle of the guardians?

3.     What are the results of a study comparing an experimental group with a control group?
