This manuscript aims to model and obtains the optimal air material pricing, optimal aircraft pricing, optimal recovery price, and optimal profit of each participant in the aircraft recovery supply chain. The Stackelberg game is used to model this supply chain. The model is tested under parameter variation. 

 

The Stackelberg Model presented has the essential characteristics, establishing market participants, cost functions, partial derivatives for reactions of each part, and establishing a leader for the calculated scenarios. However, step-by-step need to be clearly presented in the text.

Discuss about the limitations of the proposed model.

 

 

Minors:

The whole text needs a review of correct punctuation, numbering of figures, tables, use of upper/lower case letters, etc.

There is no reference to line 26-57

Line 82 and 87 Zhang miss the reference year/number.

Lines 109-116 can be written in bullet points for easy understanding.

Remove Formulas and Equations to refer to formulas and equations. Keep only (number). See how it was done on line 223.

Closed loop supply chain is an interesting topic. The authors applied Stackelberg Game Theory to the decision analysis of aviation manufacturers and the results were also fascinating. However, there are some issues that need to be improved.

 

1)    The sense of sustainability in this paper is not enough. To keep this article in the scope of the journal, authors should clearly state the sustainability contributions of their research paper. The research gap (in the sense of sustainability) should obviously be stated in the article, both theoretical gap and theoretical necessity. How does the closed loop supply chain affect sustainability?

2)    As a result of journal name and scope, your article needs to be improved the sense of sustainability. This could be done by adding review and discussion related to “sustainability”. I recommended more than 15 references in sustainable supply chain, green supply chain, circular supply chain, reverse logistics, closed loop supply chain, and other related topics that need to be addressed. However, superficial citations are not acceptable.

3)    This article does not have an active "discussion section” to show the theoretical contributions of this research to the scientific literature. The comparisons must include confirmatory findings (similarity of each findings) or counterintuitive findings (dissimilarity) to the results of published articles. Authors should argue how their research stands among other published papers within the body of knowledge. If possible, one specific research question should be referred to in each subsection. Readers will be convinced that the article’s objectives were totally fulfilled if the research findings clearly answer research questions.

4)    Figure 1 should be improved. Font size and type in the figure should be the same as in the context (Palatino Linotype).

 

5)    The word “air material” obviously unfamiliar to the most readers. Please try to use “aircraft parts” or something instead of the word mentioned.

It is recommended after an extensive review of English. In addition, the work seems original in the area of decision analysis. It is suggested:

 

1. The domain of the variables must be clarified.

2. Also, be careful with the first and second-order derivatives; put the domain of the derivatives.

3. Clarify in the initial part what or what criterion was taken to decide the maximum. Explain what the Hessian is and its characteristics.

4. Why don't I use numerical methods to solve this model?
