Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article discusses the influences shaping urban spatial patterns in Boston, particularly regarding location choices for housing and employment. While it provides valuable insights into the preferences and disparities in job-housing balance, there are several gaps that can be further elaborated:

1- Understanding the Underlying Factors: The article identifies a pronounced divergence in preferences for job and housing locations but does not delve deeply into the underlying factors fueling these preferences. Few literature is needed to explore the specific drivers, both intrinsic and extrinsic, that lead individuals to make these choices. For example, what are the socioeconomic, cultural, and lifestyle factors that influence people's decisions to live near the ocean but work in areas distant from natural barriers?

2- Geographic Constraints: The study highlights the role of geographic barriers but does not provide a comprehensive analysis of how these barriers impact land availability, infrastructure development, and accessibility. Further elaboration into the specific challenges posed by geographic constraints in urban planning within geographically constrained environments could support this argument.

3- Socioeconomic Considerations: The study acknowledges the importance of socioeconomic considerations but does not explore how these factors interact with location choices. Further elaboration could examine the trade-offs individuals make between housing affordability, employment opportunities, quality of life, and accessibility.

Overall, the article is interesting and offers valuable insights which can be further enhanced after these minor comments.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article entitled Geographical Influences on Job-Housing Balance: A Study of Coastal Urban Areas in Boston addresses an interesting topic. It was with pleasure that I read this work and I congratulate the authors for their contribution.

The article contains the appropriate structure. It is correctly divided into relevant sections and their content coincides with their titles. Bibliography is correctly formulated. The scientific language of the article is mature.

My main recommendations are the following:

Does the model you use have any limitations?

The Conclusions are vague, they should get more consistency, underlining the added value of the paper.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

Enhlish style is good, only minor editing of English is required.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript portrays preliminary research that confirms the impact of geographical barriers on residents' job-housing distribution and supports to explain the potential reasons for traffic congestion and uneven distribution of housing supply prices in coastal cities from a mechanistic perspective.

As suggestions for improving the study, I point out:

1) Clearly justify the reason for choosing the models indicated in equations (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6) and (7). Are there no alternative mathematical models to those presented?

2) It would be important to mention the limitations that the demographic choice made (Boston) may result in when the analysis is carried out in other regions of the country (New York, for example);

3) In the "socio-economic considerations", line 525-555, I missed the citation of studies that reinforce the study's findings. It seems that the conclusions are not reflected in studies, but only in statistics.
