Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The method section should be added with an explanation of the research design.

The results section will be easier to understand if the presentation uses subheadings for each topic/finding.

Author Response

The paper adjusted the objectives of the study, the methods used. For the clarity of the data presented in the paper, subparagraphs in the "Results" section were presented. The authors have revised the references presented and believe that they are sufficient to confirm the research conducted. Additional references would affect the overload of information. The clarity of the approaches to the study conducted was corrected in the Materials and Methods section. In the discussion, the comparison of previously published papers with our study was not accurately corrected, we fixed that.

!!! The method section should be added with an explanation of the research design.

In the section "Methods and materials" in the sub-item "research design" there is a more detailed justification of the approaches that were used in the study.

!!! The results section will be easier to understand if the presentation uses subheadings for each topic/finding.

The results of the study are divided into four additional subheadings for easy comprehension.

Summary

The purpose of the present research is to study approaches to the formation of an interactive learning environment for the effective study of music in Chinese primary and secondary schools. The present research involved a total of 120 primary school students and 115 secondary school students in three educational institutions in Beijing. Initially, the study determined that most students had mastered the average level of knowledge before the intervention. Secondary school students participated in programs that focused on learning about musical notation and identifying it. The present study implied developing the modified curriculum. Hence, the elaborated program contained various interactive technologies, playfully studying the information, and the direct interaction of students. This study builds on an empirical approach through a sociological survey. This method contributed to determining the student's perception of the modified training program. The present research introduces interactive technologies into the educational process while proposing the most suitable technologies at each stage of training for relevant outcomes.

Comments

The topic of the manuscript is interesting and relevant for the field of music pedagogy and music teaching in the age of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also otherwise. Also, the manuscript is interesting on the topic of sustainable education and approaches.

The cited references are mostly recent publications.

The manuscript is scientifically based, and the research plan is well thought out.

The results of the research are derived from the research plan.

The tables and figure are easy to use and show clearly what the results are when the right statistical methods are used.

The obtained results are used to draw conclusions.

The research was conducted according to the ethical code.

The English language is appropriate and understandable.

Reviewer 3 Report

The article presents an interesting research of the interactive learning environment for music training in primary and secondary schools in People Republic of China. The article is of appropriate scope and is technically arranged according to the instructions for the authors. Relevant and recent literary sources were used. The empirical part of the research was conducted in five stages, with correspondingly set objectives for each phase of the research. The results of the research are commented on in an appropriate manner, and the conclusions are supported by the results. Overall, the article represents a contribution to the field of research, and its conclusions could be useful primarily to practicing teachers. However, some shortcomings in the article must be mentioned. The main drawback is that the authors do not state research questions or hypotheses in the methodological part, but only goals for each individual stage of empirical research. The second shortcoming is less significant, and it is about the fact that in the review of the relevant literature, the results of some studies are stated without a description of the sample that was used for these studies.

The results of the research are commented on in an appropriate manner, and the conclusions are supported by the results. Overall, the article represents a contribution to the field of research, and its conclusions could be useful primarily to practicing teachers. However, some shortcomings in the article must be mentioned.

The authors revised the relevance of the literature sources used, which is consistent with the topic of the study. We corrected the objectives of the study, as well as the methods used and their sequence. Additional subparagraphs were added for clarity of the results presented, which contributes to a better perception of the information. The discussion partially corrected the differences between previously published works and our study (they were presented, but were not correctly highlighted).

The main drawback is that the authors do not state research questions or hypotheses in the methodological part, but only goals for each individual stage of empirical research.

In the methodology, the authors have adjusted the specifics of the study, which is not limited to individual goals.

The second shortcoming is less significant, and it is about the fact that in the review of the relevant literature, the results of some studies are stated without a description of the sample that was used for these studies.

The literature review adds a description of the sample in the analysis of the relevant sources of literature by which it was provided and by which the analysis performed implies their description.
