Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear authors and edit

I have read this manuscript carefully. I think it's very interesting. This manuscript has certain significance for guiding engineering geophysics. Using the magnetic data , the author draws a scientific conclusion that there is geological similarity between the southern Sinai Peninsula and the northern Arabian Shield. It is speculated that the Aqaba Bay separated the Neoproterozoic crust that had been continued. There are significant linear structures on either side of the Gulf of Aqaba. Significant linear structures may represent still active faults. The author suggests that when selecting the location of NEO City located in the east of the Gulf of Aqaba, it is necessary to carefully understand the potential hazards. I am optimistic about thismanuscript and suggest that it can be published after polishing.  And  carefully proofread the drawings and references before publishing is recommded.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

I am really thank you very much for your very valuable word " I am optimistic about this manuscript and suggest that it can be published after polishing." on the manuscript. we will continue working on this way to enrich the scientific comunity.

Reviewer 2 Report

Comments:

1.    The authors have presented a good research work on the NEOM City Project of Saudi Arabia. However, it would be better to add a little information on the previous geological/geothermal or geophysical work (if any) in the Introduction part to clarify to readers how this research is different/new from the previous work.

2.    In Results and Interpretations, the first two paragraphs should be shifted to Methodology section, same for the similar methodology paragraphs of 5.2. Curie depth map, 5.3. Heat flow from Curie depth and 5.4. Crustal Radiogenic Heat Production from CPD. The Results part should only include Results and Interpretation not Methodology.

3.    The authors should elaborate the Results section by adding some discussion related to geothermal gradients or seismic activities in the region.

4.    English language needs improvement at several instances throughout the text.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you very much for your suggestions and comments on the current manuscript. we did follow your comments and made the required correction in new upload file.

Reviewer 3 Report

The author aims at NEOM, a mega-city to be built in the future, thermal structural has been studied through the magnetic data to address the potential geohazards and indicate geo-logical attractions within and around the planned city. This is a very meaningful and necessary work. However, before the paper is published, some necessary modifications need to be made. My detailed comments are as follows:

1. On Page 14, I noticed that the author mentioned "on international level, there are start buildings were built on highly seismic active sites areas such as SabihaGökçen International airport...", I think this paragraph should be placed at the front of the manuscript, where introduces geological structure, prediction of geological movement, and earthquake risk.

2. In my opinion, Figures 10 and 11 should not be included in the conclusion, but should be included as important research content in the body. Correspondingly, the conclusion and discussion should be enriched.

3.The font format of all formulas in the manuscript should be uniform.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you very much for your comments on te manuscript. I did follow your recommendation and made the required correction. new updated manuscript is uploaded on the system.
