Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper explores the Explore the potential influence of China's "ecological civilization" on researching and implementing sustainable development. This paper has all the necessary elements. The methodology is clear and the results are fully discussed.

Suggestions to authors:

Results: OK
Interpretation: OK
Other comments: About the topic: A good topic or title of the research should be specific, concise and able to convey the main findings of the research. Try to attract readers with complete meaningful words.

1.     Abstract: Abstract section is too descriptive. You should focus: why the problem is important? What was found and what was recommended? Was there any limitation? Make it short and simple please.

2.     Academic writing: Consider professional copy-editing to ensure standard scientific writing.

3.     Are there any managerial or theoretical implications of your research? If yes, please include it. I really believe that this research has significant implications. Please revise Conclusion part with the following aspects:

·       Put your study into CONTEXT

·       Describe how it represents an advance in the field/ specific contribution

·       Suggest future experiments

The topic is interesting and challenging.

I have several general recommendations.

The abstract is written well but it can be written more effectively by dividing long sentences into small sentences.

In the introduction section, objectives and issues are not so clear, I suggest some more info for sustainable development goals 7,12, 14, 15,17.

A chart of methodology should be added and explained in the methodology section. The methods  are not so well presented. For example more information for VOSviewer software and CiteScape should be given.

It is not well motivated why the studies is up to 2019 and not to 2022, since most of publications are after 2007.

Figure 5 is difficult to understand, I suggest adding the English terms inside the Figure.

The Conclusion section is too long and must be shortened with the highlights of the paper. I recommend to stress on the novelties and the future work. Conclusion can be written more effectively and adequately summarize the whole work.

Some errors/typos must be fixed, for example on line 395 to 405 cluster 1, 2,3,4 should be with capital letters- Cluster 1,2,3,4.

The cited references are not up to date. Serious drawback of the literature is that there are no references from 2022. For example when you talk about ozone layer protection on line 659 and promoting environmental protection on line 660 I suggest to add some  works from 2022:

I recommend addressing all the issues, updating the manuscript and accepting after this.

Dear authors,

“The study of science, academic research, technologies, and innovation's quantitative traits and attributes is known as scientometrics. The statistical evaluation of publications, such as books, journals, or other study types, is the focus of bibliometrics, a field of science known as "scientometrics"”.

·        It would be appropriate to put the steps followed in the study under the methodology and data heading as a figure or to add the step-by-step process in detail (maybe  Data Collection Process (three steps: 1. Data collection; 2. Data; 3. Data visualization).

·        line 325-line 335 (I think that the reasons underlying China-other country connections should be explained in detail. will increase the contribution of this study to the literature.

 ·        Please explain in the text why you chose the exact time period: "The current study conducts bibliometric analysis to examine research on EC (Ecological civilization) over the period 2000- 2019".

 ·        It would be appropriate to add a detailed explanation and interpretation for Table 6.

 ·  The answers to the research questions should be reconsidered in the findings and discussion section.

good luck

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear authors, some of my remarks have been taken account, but the major revision means that you can totally reorganize your paper. The Conclusion is again too long, and in the Discussion you should compare your results with other studies and other papers  already published in this field, so you should improve the conclusion and the discussion and import some references concerning the same subject. Although you add more references to the work, none of my suggested references have been cited in your new version, I strongly recommend to cite them in the final version of the manuscript.
