Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

On the one hand the article is very interesting, on the other hand the sustainability aspect is, in my opinion, very marginal.

In present form, indeed, the right title should be "A Study on the Real Estate Purchase Decisions"

The article is interesting. The abstract only speak about methods in just one line and that too about experimental design. The sentence in abstract <In addition, the negative effect of high-price anchoring on purchase intention is stronger for pessimists; the positive effect of low-price anchoring on purchase intention is stronger for optimists> can be shortened as has some repetition and some other insight can be integrated in place. In the introduction, some information is needed about the real-estate sector of Taiwan whereas the last paragraph of this section is unnecessarily long. In 2.1, it is not clear to which study authors are referring and giving such a lengthy account from one study in such a detail is awkward and not warranted (first paragraph). The methodological section is nicely framed while hypotheses development follows a clear path. The variables used also have been clearly defined and contextualized. The results section has been aptly put to lead to effective insights, however, there is some redundancy and can be addressed to shorten the article. The concluding section protracts the discussion focusing some of minor details as well as giving an impression of a summary. This needs to be shortened.

  1. The main question addressed is role of information on purchase decisions of real estate. The obejctive has been well serveds, as per my understanding.
  2. The topic is original and worthy of research while it definitely addresses gaps in research especially the caveats related to information asymmetry.
  3. The addition made to the subject is interesting. Article speaks of and undetake drivers of purchase decisions of real estate, especially the information framing among optimists and passimists.
  4. As pointed out earlier, the methodology is apt and suited to the data. The variables and hypotheses are amply discussed and put in context.
  5. The conclusion is little lengthy and needs trimming, although the main question is sufficiently addressed thereon.
  6. References are enough and relevant.
  7. Tables and figures are of high quality and have been discussed in sufficient detail.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is interesting. Some doubts about its consistent with "sustainabily" remain.
