Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

(1) The samples of baked clay should be described in figures, and set in the papers;

(2) The process of selection of environmental indicators  is too coarse, and bu more in detail.

Reviewer 4 Report

Dear Authors,

The paper Indicators as a Foundation of Eco-Labelling of Baked Clay Construction Products in the Republic of Serbia by Suzana Knežević, and Dunja Prokić is well suited for journal Sustainability. The authors of this article present new approach in eco-labelling of construction products.

Detailed comments:

1. Abstract. This section is relatively  short. It can be expanded.

2. Keywords. Relevant to the topic.

3. Introduction in reviewer opinion is too short and does not fully characterize the topic undertaken. The bibliography list should be extended. In the last paragraphs of the introduction, the authors listed their own contribution presented in the article, but in a too short form.

4. The paper contains parts in good order: introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions. The article has been prepared very carefully. The form of the article is accurate, tables and charts are legible, photos of good quality.

5. Chapter 3 - this section consists of simple description of the results. Chapter 4 - in the opinion of the reviewer, it is part of the presentation of the results and should be included in chapter 3.

6. Chapter 4 - it should be written from the beginning, it should include considerations regarding the presented methodology, indicators, adopted indicator values. In the opinion of the reviewer, the main lack of the presented work is the insufficient discussion of the proposed system of criteria, selection of labels, legitimacy of work towards the establishment of eco-labelling The novelty of the presented study should be more highlighted in the context of other works.

7. The bibliography refers to 33 articles and other publications. There are only 2 articles from the journal Sustainability in the bibliography. Authors are asked to enlarge the literature review and make it visible in the bibliography.

8. The article was written enough well in English, is understandable for a reviewer, a person who does not speak English as a mother tongue.
