Influence of Electrodes Configuration on Hydraulic Characteristics of Constructed Wetland–Microbial Fuel Cell Systems Using Graphite Rods and Plates as Electrodes
Round 1

According to your article "Influence of electrodes configuration on hydraulic characteristics of constructed wetland–microbial fuel cell systems using graphite rods and plates as electrodes", This topic is interesting and it worthy of publication, however, there are still some issues needs be addressed.:
1、Computational fluid dynamics is mentioned for the first time in the abstract, so its abbreviation (CFD) should be written for later use.
2、In the last sentence of the introduction, it is suggested to replace "hydraulic perspective" with "hydrodynamics
3、Please check whether the formula "n/m2" in the penultimate line of 2.11 is correct. It is recommended to change it to "N/m2" or "MPa"
4、In Table 1, it is recommended to put the grid map separately, and indicate the number of grids, and mark the local encryption places.
5、In the second paragraph of 2.5, it is recommended to use a table to list the substance content of the prepared water.
6、The placement of Figure 3 is suggested to follow certain rules, and each vertical or line follows the control variable method.
7、It is recommended that the "ABCDE" in Table 5 be used as the unit of the corresponding parameter.
8、The number of references in the article is too small, and the research status in recent years is insufficient. It is suggested to add and modify appropriately.

This paper studied effect of HRT and electrode configuration on the flow field characteristics of CW–MFCs and the optimization of electrode configuration by CFD numerical simulation. The manuscript is well organized, thus I can recommend it for publication after minor revision.
1. In 3.2, the title “Influence mechanism analysis…” is suggested to be replaced by “Influencing mechanism analysis…”.
2. The introduction section should be modified to reflect more advances in recent years. And more papers published in recent several years should be added and properly cited.
3. If the figures in Fig.4 are displayed in the form of histogram, it might be more suitable to show the tendency.

It would only be necessary to add articles that compare the data obtained in this article with what the other scientific community is doing on this same subject, to analyze if the data obtained are close to the experimental or are far removed.

I reviewed this article “Influence of electrodes configuration on hydraulic characteristics of constructed wetland–microbial fuel cell systems using graphite rods and plates as electrodes” which is of great interest and study has wider implications in water resource management.
In material and methods section, authors referred to the numerical simulation method “The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Simulation Software” the authors should provide the rationale of using this method, why this method was chosen, show a list of method and then provide a rationale why this method was chosen. Also, need a reference to support the statement. The figure 1 needs more clarification and refer those in the methodology text.
If all the parameters used in the table 1 for the model calibration, have authors carried any sensitivity, which parameter is most sensitive, ideally show the parameter ranges. Figure 3, is hard to follow, authors can show one figure with explanation of each parameters or group like A, hydraulic residence time etc., like as shown in figure 5.
Section practical application and future research prospect, its recommended to be very specific with the implication, what likely could be the implications (one of two statements)
Overall, an interesting research topic which significantly contributes to knowledge, I would like to accept this article after the suggested minor changes including comments/suggestions from other reviewers.
