Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Good start of defining the term, ICT, and its use in classroom settings in this digital age, adversely affected by the unforeseen pandemic and disrupted the teaching and learning environment with young students worldwide.

Game-based learning and assessment of the outcomes are well presented with clearly-tabulated and graphically-presented format on the use of Google Forms; computer language game HTML; CSS and JavaScript; Microsoft PowerPoint.

The results of the experiment are presented well, leading to their extensive discussion and conclusion of the research with major implications on ensuring the positive learning outcomes among the students.

Extensive use of reference works from recent years.

A bit of proof-reading and spell-check would make this research paper perfect.

First of all, congratulations to the authors, congratulations!

Here are some suggestions for improvement of their text:

- Add a few paragraphs in the introduction about the general context, so as not to start so abruptly with the research.

- I would add some systematic review of the literature, such as [53], to reinforce your arguments. For example, on the impact of ICT on academic outcomes.

- The methodology is hard to follow, maybe a flow chart of the research would help to better understand all the steps.

- I miss access to the tools used.

- When the final text is ready, adjust the tables and graphs for better readability.

Again, my congratulations.

The objectives need to be standardised because in the summary, line 130 and line 140 speak of different objectives, and in line 407-409 there is a different purpose.

The research questions and hypotheses are not clearly identified.

It is necessary to refer to studies on which the statements made between lines 44 and 97 are based.

After full consideration of the text, I would like to thank the authors of the work. They have managed to solve very important issues related to ICT tools. The quality of training is extremely important in the educational process. The authors have outlined a very wide introduction (v. 34-138) but, in my opinion, the work should have been put into context making the situation clearer. Not every reader can be completely aware of situations and circumstances in other countries. The character of our periodical is international and needs to reflect this fact.

The materials and methods are correct and clearly set forth and I have nothing to say against them.

The work has set out and has reach firm results according to the methodology followed. The subject has been studied in three separate sub-stages. The tables and figures give a thorough indication of the thinking of the authors. In my opinion, this part is extremely clear, and will serve other authors in future examinations of the problem.

It is with great satisfation that I have accepted the thesis dealing with ICT (form of games) that will have influence on improving knowledge and the quality of the education process (v. 474-476).

The discussion is completely comprehensible and clearly stated.

The references are perfect. The completed article could be published with a few alterations. My comments should be treated as a recommendation to the authors.
