This study aims to obtain a multi-factor optimum blend using scrap through developing a mathematical model that minimizes cost, emissions, and energy consumption while maximizing scrap utilization. This may be useful for steelmaker to regulate the use of the scrap. However, for the paper itself, there is not enough lucubration on the theoretical analysis. As such, it is far from being published in the SCI journal.

Delete Section 2.1. The title of the manuscript only focuses on scrap. Section 2.1 focuses on blending problems for coal and gasoline (not part of the paper). Furthermore, if you want to do a literature review on blending problems for coal and gasoline, more references are required (4 references are not a literature review in appropriate quality.). I suggest to only focus on scrap.

Section 2.2, page 3: You mention different studies within the bullet points (line 89-99). References must be mentioned here (it is not enough only mentioning the word "studies", reference to other research groups must be mentioned here).

Section 4, page 12: Short description of GAMS software should be added. How does the solver work, any convergence criteria, how long does one calculation run take and other things to make the working principle understandable. And how do you use Excel for verification in this regards (is also mentioned in the abstract)?

Section 6.3, page 22: Why do you call this Section "Reviews"? It more or less makes the final conclusions. Think of another more suitable title. And what are challenges for optimization cylces? And how can a steel producer implement this GAMS/Excel program into daily practice (difficult or easy to manage)?

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

I read with glad this paper because the topic was new and interesting to me. There are following problems which should be improved:

-The paperdoes not explicitly discuss the limitations of the study. Every research project has limitations, such as assumptions made during modeling or data constraints, which should be acknowledged and discussed to provide context for the findings.

-The paper lacks a detailed description of the methodology used for the optimization study. It's essential for scientific papers to provide a clear and replicable methodology so that other researchers can understand and validate the results.

-The paper does not include a comparative analysis with existing research or alternative approaches. Comparative analysis helps to contextualize the significance of the study's findings within the broader scientific literature and identify areas for further research or improvement.

-The paper does not delve deeply into the practical implications of the optimization findings for steel production facilities. Discussing the practical challenges and considerations associated with implementing the optimized blending process would enhance the paper's relevance to industry stakeholders.

-Provide detailed validation procedures and results to demonstrate the accuracy and reliability of the optimization model. Validate the model against real-world data or experimental results to ensure that it effectively represents the steel production process.

Obtaining a multi-factor optimum blend using scrap within the scope of sustainable and environmentally friendly steel  production: Application in a steel casting company

The article carried out research on creating a mathematical model that would obtain an optimal mixture using a specific number of  sets of steel scrap and clean elements in the production of GS52 steel in a foundry company.

1. He examined the coal blending 66 problem as a blending problem in an electricity-producing factory and used a branch-and-67 bound algorithm containing heuristic rules as a method [7].

Who is this "he"? is it a name Liu  from literature [7] ? [7] Liu C.-M., Sherali H. D., A coal shipping and blending problem for an electric utility company, Omega, 28, 433-444, 2000.

2. Green production practices; These can be stated as minimizing energy consumption, input 156

is this a continuation of the sentence flagellum lowercase letter

3.  The literature is very sparse and does not provide information about the status of the issue discussed in the article.

4.  3. Experimental Method and Theoretical Method 170 brak  nazwy zastsowanych metod/technik analizy

Complete lack of names of the analysis methods/techniques used and names of devices on which they were performed.

5.  Figure 1. Scrap sample for spectral analysis

Terrible photo - I don't think it's about the hand in the glove, but about the sample, maybe the sample itself with a measurement in cm.

6.  An example spectral analysis report obtained as a result of a GS-52 blending is presented in 222 Table 3, and a visual of the relevant sample is presented in Figure 3. 223

Provide a name for the analysis, please

7. Table 3. Spectrum analysis of the first sample obtained in GS52 casting 224

Data described incorrectly in table3  (FE?? etc..)

8. The samples taken after melting using 1000 kg of Scrap 5 were examined with a spectrometer 244?

Provide a name for the analysis, please

9. 85. The specific enthalpy is a measure of the total energy of a unit mass, and its units are usually kJ/kg.  kWh/t???

9. Model notation: 346

I the set of elements found in the product 347

J set of all raw materials 348

I -the set of elements found in the product

J - set of all raw materials

…….

Bad, incomprehensible description of the mathematical model, lack of its assumptions, great chaos of symbols in the symbols used, lack of transparency, strange units.

10. Table 8. Casting blend cost information before optimization study 460

strange unclear combination of 4 tables ??/

11. Figure 4. Specific enthalpy (ΔH) of cast steel at 1500°C according to different silicon and carbon 290 contents[39]  as shown in Fig. 5,

Write a few sentences about this item of literature, please.

12. 6.3 Reviews 600

13 . Strange placement of element names in the description of abbreviations. After all, a scientist should know the symbols of the elements, the Medeleev system has been known for over 150 years.
