Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper offers a very interesting way of dealing with the problem of construction waste, which is expressed in many countries around the world. It is well designed in terms of content, providing an overview of the literature as well as specific data for the area analysed. The only suggestion to the authors is to reformulate the conclusion. It should relate to the content of the hypotheses of the paper, which should be stated at the beginning. The limitations addressed by the authors should be included either in the introduction or in the methodology. At the end, a conclusion with discussion elements should be avoided in order to have a concrete picture of the proposal at the end. Other parameters are very interesting.

Author Response

Thank you for your letter and comments concerning our manuscript entitled “Research on EKC of Construction Waste Generation and Analysis of Its Influencing Factors—Based on China's provincial panel data” (Manuscript ID: sustainability-3036196). Those comments are all valuable and very helpful for revising and improving our paper, as well as the important guiding significance to our researches. We have studied comments carefully and have made correction which we hope meet with approval. The main corrections in the paper and the responds to the your comments are as follows:

I have reformulated my conclusion, separating the discussion content of the article from the conclusion, the discussion is section 5, and the conclusion is section 6. And in the introduction, I added  limitations(see line 88-94).

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article is interesting and relevant, but needs some major revision.

1. Introduction
- The information from lines 91-96 in the introduction should be deleted as it is not needed.

2. Figures
- It is necessary to correctly design the figure captions. For this purpose, recommend to the authors to once again familiarize themselves with the Template for this journal and to arrange all figures captions according to its requirements.
- In addition, when referring to figures in the text, the word Figure should be written in full, example, line 262: change Fig. 2 on Figure 2. Please make these changes throughout the Manuscript.
- Figure 3: this figure should be designed in accordance with the requirements of the Template. Please make changes.

3. Tables
- It is necessary to correctly design the names of all Tables and their placement in the text. For this purpose, recommend to the authors to once again familiarize themselves with the Template for this journal and to arrange all Tables according to its requirements.

4. Section 5. Conclusions
- The title of this section is not entirely accurate. Conclusions should be clear and localized, and in the non-scholarly interpractice this section looks more like discussions. Recommend to the authors to rename the section to 5. Discussions.
- The section with clear and localized conclusions should be placed separately, i.e. 6. Conclusions. Please make the changes.

5. References
- Pay attention to the authors that the references are not correctly formatted. Please familiarize yourself with the journal template and make the appropriate changes.
- Line 242: the China Statistical Year book:https://data.stas.gov.cn/easyquery.htm?cn=C01. Since the authors are referring to a book, recommend to the authors that they add this source to the reference list and format it as a book rather than a link. Don't forget to change the numerosity of the references in the text of the Manuscript.

6. Other comments
- Recommend to the authors to once again familiarize themselves with the Template for this journal and to formalize all equations in accordance with its requirements. In addition, all formulas and equations in the text should be referenced, which is not currently available for everyone. Please make the appropriate changes.
- There are places in the text with incorrectly written characters, merged words and other typos, thus: line 27: change 1. Introduction: on 1. Introduction (delete ; at the end of the word introduction); line 32: change 30%-40% on 30-40%; line 33: change 30%-50% on 30-50%; line 40: change change[2]. on change [2].; line 50: change down[4]. on down [4].; line 58: change emissions[5,6] on emissions [5,6]; line 59: change NOX[7]. on NOX [7].; line 60: change pollution[8,9], waste[10,11]. on pollution [8,9], waste [10,11].; line 69: change generation[12]. on generation [12].; line 72: change requirements[13]. on requirements [13].; line 98: change 2.1.Construction waste on 2.1.
