Simulation of Urban Carbon Sequestration Service Flows and the Sustainability of Service Supply and Demand
Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThank you for submitting your paper to the Sustainability Journal.
Overall, the manuscript is of high quality. I would just like to make a few suggestions:
1. The text and the whole research is much too provincial. That is, the results and the research itself are very much focused on the chosen study area. What about other metropolitan areas? Are your methods and calculations applicable to other sample areas, cities? Authors should broaden the perspective, especially in the discussion section.
2. As with any model-based study, the question may arise: are there limitations in terms of data availability, model assumptions and generalisability?
3. Given the large number of abbreviations, I recommend that a list of abbreviations be provided.
4. I think it would be useful to give some detailed thoughts on how seasonal changes influence flows, carbon sequestration, etc.
5. From my point of view, the practical applications are the most important. How can the results be used in urban development and management? Can these models and calculations be adapted for future e.g. rehabilitation or housing projects?

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThe paper has very good insights and results. Also very important for publi policies. I strongly suggest to include the main goal, because without a clear goal the paper seems a report. So, together, also include a hypothesis. Therefore, the authors must address in the discussion the findings considering the goal and the hypothesis. The discussion is not well done, must be substantially incorporate some comparisons and some more insights for the readers, for public policies and managers. Also, should address some implications for the ghg emissions in the region. Moreover, more emphasis on practical applications and a stronger discussion of the implications would enhance the overall impact of the research.
