Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Figure 2 - The authors do not take into account the existence of data other than x1 and x2 at the second hierarchical level.

Figure 3 - graphical interpretation cannot be evaluated for the validity of the obtained results. There are no intermediate data on correlational fit, absolute and relative errors, squared deviation.

Figure 6 - the authors did not reveal the reason for the obtained variegation of the average fitness in the text.

Response: Thank you for your feedback; your comments are very constructive.

(1) To address the first issue, we modify Figure 2 in the article.

(2) In response to the second question, many thanks to the authors for their advice, which has been very helpful. We intend to clarify this later in the additional documentation in the dataset.

(3) In response to the third question, we have explained Figure 6-Figure 7, illustrated the trend of the average fit in Figure 6, and defined the evaluation criteria in Figure 7. The modifications are located in lines 1-9 on page 16 of the article and are marked in blue font.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

In this study, the matching relationship between users' emotional cognition and NEV style design was established based on experimental data. Particle Swarm Optimization Support Vector Regression has been incorporated into the perceptual engineering research process to predict user emotions using Support Vector Regression (SVR). The proposed model is presented as a new method to improve NEV design by effectively capturing the nonlinear relationship between the morphological features of the battery electric vehicle (BEV) and users' emotional cognition.

An effective and important study has been carried out. However, some minor revision are needed.

*The main contributions of the article, which are given as 3 items in the introduction section, should be revised to make them a little more understandable.

*The word-breaks should be eliminated in the tables in Tables 2, 4 and 10.

*The fact that R2 values in both training and test results are below 0.95 is controversial in terms of accepting the results. Therefore, it should be explained in detail why these graphics should be accepted.

*Comparisons in the Discussion section should be made by stating mathematical results.

*The reference is current and its number is sufficient for reviewing the literature

(1) In response to the first issue, we have revised the contribution link in the “Introduction” section, located on page 3, lines 23-25 of the text. It is labeled in blue.

(2) In response to the second issue, we have modified the table text to be smaller and labeled in blue.

(3) For the third problem, the evaluation coefficient R2 is greater than 0.9 as the standard value. Literature methods have been introduced to demonstrate that the comparison of different evaluation criteria yields better or comparable results in this paper when R2 and MSE are the evaluation criteria when different training sets SVR/BPNN are utilized for training. The modifications are located in lines 1-11 on page 21 of the text and are labeled in blue font.

(4) To address the fourth issue, a literature methodology has been introduced to prove that the comparison of different evaluation criteria yields better or comparable results in this paper when R2 and MSE are the evaluation criteria when different training sets SVR/BPNN are utilized for training. The modifications are located in lines 1-11 on page 21 of the text and are labeled in blue font.

(5) In response to the fifth question, many thanks to the authors for their suggestions and affirmations, which have helped immensely. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper is about design of Electric vehicles using a decision making criteria:

The authors made a simple concept over complicated.

The paper should concentrate on the actual theme of the research conducted.

For example why is important to talk about CO2 and NOx

A complete method is explained in the following reference which is not seen by the authors.

Line 82 development.JIN et al. [14]

Line 88 the users' needs.ZUO et

The whole concept of decesion making  is described in the following reference:

(1) In response to the first question, this paper is designed to demonstrate the importance of electric vehicles therefore CO2 and NOx are used to illustrate this, which leads to the background of electric vehicle design.

(2) To address the second issue, we have adapted the literature review of [14] and [16] cited in the text. and labeled in blue font.

(3) In response to the third question, we have added relevant literature and labeled it in blue.

(4) In response to the fourth issue, we have made changes to address the incorrect syntax.
