Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1. The author's title of the manuscript, "Optimizing Planting Methods for Sustainable Pomegranate Cultivation in the Shallow gravelly land of Central Deccan Plateau Region, India", is not accurate enough. Seeing this title, the author will not associate it with the experimental design in the manuscript. It is recommended that the author carefully consider the title of the manuscript.

2. Many units in the article are not superscripted. It is recommended that the author carefully check the entire text.

3. Suggest the author to add a map of the experimental area in the "2.1description of the study area" section to help readers understand the geographical location of the research area.

4. The experimental design in the manuscript is complex and difficult to understand. It is recommended that the author add a table to express it.

5. What was the water and fertilizer management during the experiment? Please ask the author to provide detailed explanations using tables or images.

6. There are many abbreviations in the table in the text, which readers find difficult to understand. It is recommended that the author provide a detailed explanation of the meaning of these abbreviations.

7. Is "15" or "T15" in Table 1?

8. The number retained after the decimal point in the manuscript is not consistent. It is recommended that the author check the entire text to ensure that two digits are uniformly retained.

9. What do the uppercase and lowercase letters in the chart represent?

10. The conclusion section of the manuscript should be specific and clear results, and it is recommended to delete the phrase "Additionally, assessing carbon sequencing and potential income from trading sequential carbon results from restoring challenging terrains for planning technology niques should be explored in future studies."

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The work is in need of adjustments.

Initially, the writing suggests that an evaluation of the area was carried out over 8 years of cultivation. However, it seems that the results are only from the 8th year of cultivation.

The graphs are not good enough to be published. They need formatting on the axes, fonts, font size, axis titles....

Remove the title from the text and replace it with identifications such as (A), (B), (C)... And insert the description in the caption of each figure.

The units need to be adjusted throughout the work. Authors should use the superscript function when necessary.

The paper presents the interference of the parameters evaluated in the 8th year of cultivation of a pomegranate area. It would be interesting to include data from other years of cultivation. The history of the area is important. I recommend including data from more years of cultivation. Just one year of cultivation is not enough to define such important parameters.

Notes and markings have been inserted in the attached file.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

The text needs a punctuation check, especially at the end of sentences.

All the units should be revised as many are incorrectly written.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

A good topic with benefits to farmers, and a large amount of experimental work has been done by the authors. However, the performance has many imperfections.

Your figures 2, 3 and 4 are completely incomprehensible.

Figures with two panels should be labeled A and B.

Figures with four panels should be labeled A, B, C and D respectively.

Please, insert axes in Fig 2, 3 and 4 and write the parameter and corresponding units.

Describe the figures in the legends clearly and fully enough.

Statistics: what do uppercase and lowercase letters mean? Explain in the figure legend.

What is NSSW, NSBS and other abbreviations? The soil types and other abbreviations should be explained in full when they first occur in the manuscript.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

Good English language, but I am not a native speaker.

Few typing mistakes.

Review bibliography 18 and others

In point 2.4, review the format of the quotes, the error was also repeated in other paragraphs.

Table 2 is not understood, the percentage of potassium in the soil column (0.26), in that same table, the second column marks zeros (the holes), it could only be mentioned in the text.

In the figures, the units of the Y ordinate axis are missing. Information is also missing from the X ordinate axis.

Complement information related to significance, based on which statistical test (uppercase letter and lowercase letter)

Data from the sheets is missing in the discussion

In the discussion, it is suggested to add information about why that response was obtained.

If there are quality standards for pomegranate fruits, they could write if the quality was similar to the official one.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors studied "Optimizing Planting Methods for Sustainable Pomegranate Cultivation in the Shallow gravelly land of Central Deccan Plateau Region, India", and were from the objective of this study to harness the untapped potential of shallow skeletal soils by optimizing planting practices, thereby enhancing their productivity,d customizing soil mixtures resilience, strives to set the stage for improved fruit quality, economic growth for farmers, minimized environmental footprints, and a robust agricultural sector, ultimately contributing to a sustainable food future.

The idea for the study is good, but itis full of mistakes.

- First, it is better to numbering lines for easy review.

- The factors studied are four and not three as you mentioned in the Materials and Methods section.

- The number of replicates used in the study is not available.

- The manuscript has many clerical errors.

- How did I use multiple regression analysis? and any type of it was used and whether the number of inputs used was sufficient for the validity of the analysis?

-  Table 2: It writes ANOVA, and what is indicates table values.

- What's the point of calculating a adj R2 value?

Table 2: The factors studied are different from  you mentioned

in the Materials and Methods section and Table 2.

- The results were not shown the rest of the interactions, what was shown were bilateral interactions only.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors have still not inserted the year in which the experiment was conducted in item 2.2.

The authors should carefully review the units. Several units remain unconfigured (overwritten).

The authors should state that the experiment is from the 8th year of cultivation only. This information should be included in item 2.2.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors made corrections of the manuscript, however the tree growth parameters seems unrealistics. Please, check Table 3, Figures 3 and 4. In Europe the Pomegranate tree roots rich in length 3-4 m, but in India (in the manuscript) it is 1 km (Fig.3). Please check the root biomass and preferably all your results carefully.

Author Response

Thank You. There was a typographical error with digits and some calculation errors that all carried out and now I submitted the revised for your kind consideration.
