Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Great paper! Very clear description of the various methodologies and then the proposed new approach. And the proof is in the pudding; the comparison of existing methods with the new approach is an excellent result and shows off the capability of the proposed approach very nicely.

Title               : Improving CPT-InSAR Algorithm with Adaptive Coherent Distributed Pixels Selection

Thank you for the opportunity that has been given to review the manuscript with the title “Improving CPT-InSAR Algorithm with Adaptive Coherent Distributed Pixels Selection”. This is an interesting topic in the development of the InSAR time-series using ADCP-InSAR. It should be noted in this manuscript is the authors could provide some introduction about the limitation of recent method that give author interest to propose the method and the novelty proposed in the method need to be clear, how this proposed method can overcome the limitations of other methods such as SqueeSAR. In addition, the validation process for the results of the analysis that has been obtained should be supported by field data as a comparison. This research has an interesting topic and could be a contribution for remote sensing development. Therefore, to improve the manuscript, some suggestions and comments was provided, including:

  1. Introduction part: The author should explain the novelty of this study, as the suggestions the authors can focus how the ACDP-InSAR making difference and advancing the current state of knowledge. However, the authors have to show how this is different from any previous study.
  2. Line 71-73 : It’s necessary an explanation of background of the new method was proposed, the authors can begin with the limitations of the existing method then provide the reason to propose the new method.
  3. Lines 75-79 : This paper uses the Anderson-Darling test in the estimation of SHP, why was this AD test method chosen? What about other test-statistical methods that can be used or the limitations of these methods? Provide some backgrounds of these method.
  4. Lines 98-100 : What are the considerations that made the ACDP-InSAR method chosen in this study? What is the difference between ACDP-InSAR and the other method to increase the density of measuring?
  5. Figure 4 : The authors can revise this figure by change the color of the box in figure 4 (b) and (c) despite using bigger box.
  6. Figure 5 : Please add some legend or information for pictures 5(c) and 5(d) it is not clear what the author means of this image.
  7. Lines 328-329 : Was there any consideration using the 21x21 window size in this process? And the use of threshold 20 for SHP in this research has any considerations to define the threshold? if there is a sufficient reference, please enter the reference about this issue.
  8. Figure 9 : For the suggestions, it could be clearer to revise this picture as the comment number 5.
  9. Discussion part : In this chapter, I don't see any limitations on the proposed method and plans for developing methods to overcome existing limitations, you can add these two things to this chapter
  10. From the results was presented, are there any advantages of using ACDP-InSAR compared to other methods in terms of time-series deformation results? Because we didn’t see about time series graph in this paper. It is possible to provide the time-series graph for this method.
  11. In the discussion section, how to validate the results obtained? Is there any field data that can be used as a comparison?
  12. Figure 11. If don’t mind, this some suggestions for the author to replace the image with a higher resolution and the placement of a clearer scale or label.
  13. Line 332-335 : The author mentions the comparison between the spatial distribution of the DSP with optical satellite images, is there any land use data for the study area used? It would be better if the data distribution is to assess the spatial correlation of DSP.
  14. Line 462 : Are there any factors that cause ACDP-InSAR's efficiency level to be lower than SqueenSAR's? It would be better to give an explanation of the comparison between the proposed method and the other.
  15. For Conclusion part, the authors should acknowledge the assumptions and limitations of this study. Then, can provide some description about the directions of further development
