Except that, this study results may contribute to understand the relation of serum D levels and VDBP, SNP, in mother and neonatal anthropometry, even

though this study was small sample size, especially the role of serum D on 

skeletal function since pregnancy and neonates.

The evaluation of the effects of maternal and neonatal VDBP polymorphisms on neonatal anthropometry at birth, according to several cut-offs of vitamin D status is very important. We believe that discordant results on the association of different non-bone conditions with 25OHD levels, as well as supplementation studies, may be due to this poorly studied interaction with genetic polymorphisms of VDR or of enzymes involved in the synthesis and metabolism of Vitamin D. An example of this statement is supported by the studies by JA Baron that published in 2015 that Vitamin D was not useful for the Prevention of Colorectal Adenomas, but later his group reported that it prevent in certain polymorphisms. In conclusion, this type of study opens up very important perspectives to clarify this issue.
